I really loved Silvestri's score to Castaway.
I second the John Williams although sometimes it can seem like he copies from himself. (see Catch Me if You Can and The Adventures of Tin Tin)
I would also like to mention Bernard Herrmann as his Hitchcock scores are not to be missed.

a movie can never reach its full potential without a good score. the music compliments the actors and can make a scene 10xs more powerful

one thing that bugs me about the wire, and other series directed by that guy is that there is never score to accompany whats going on in the scenes.

think about much better westworld is because of the score.

John Williams is arguably the GOAT. I'd put James Newton Howard put there tho. His music for Signs, The Village, and I am Legend is :ohlawd:

Almost anytime I really like a movie, I need the soundtrack/score. I just downloaded James Newton Howard's "Roman J Israel", and before that Wind River, which had incredible music.

Near all I listen to. Madlibs instrumentals remind me of music scores / themes. Since I've gotten older, I've grown fond of them. That and jazz
