schoolboy q sold 135k first week and he barely gets radio play, asap ferg sold 35k first week with no prior material out and work and shabba didnt chart higher than 30 on the U.S RAP&R&B charts.

she has that song Fancy at number 18 right now on the U.S billboard charts and number 5 in the UK, shes had a few songs chart in the UK.

tons of radio play does not translate to sales and a cult fanbase.

I heard of her like 2 years ago? when i saw someone post this song of hers called p*ssy on facebook lol its not like she just came out of no where...shes been around longer than Ferg.. and Rocky.. I think. just because you havent heard of someone doesnt mean they don't exist and havent been on the come up. shes been working with T.I for a minute.

Fancy mustve just went Gold..didnt think it was gold yet, but it's charted higher than Gucci Gucci.. Gucci didnt even chart outside rap and it took Kreayshawn a year or so after that song dropped to drop an album and she didn't have a hit to go along with it like Iggy has with Fancy.. she was purely riding off Gucci Gucci .. thats the only song she had. Iggys real breakthrough was that song Work like a year ago, and shes just been trynna capitalize off that since. i'm lookin at the top 5 videos of iggys on youtube.. 36 mil views, 18 mil views, 16 mil views, 13 mil, 10 mil..

also..Iggy has 4 singles that have reached UK charts.. Kreayshawn has 1 and they all outcharted Kreayshawns internationally.

Idk whos buying her albums? (Charlemagne just admitted in a breakfast club interview he bought her album, actually lol) but its really not unbelievable.

idk even know why im arguing for her.. I think shes terrible (although, I do think that Work song is catchy) but she didn't just pop up out of no where..that's incorrect. so i'll attest to her without being biased because I heard of her in like 2011.

I listened to Iggy's "Glory" EP and it wasn't bad. I put one of my tolerant homeboys on it, and he thought it was cool too. I doubt that anyone bought her album b/c they heard it jams, but i'm confident its not trash. Future, like a previous poster said, isn't built for a full album. He could probably eat forever with EPs and singles

You under estimated Iggy's single and over estimated Kreayshauns breh. Kreayshaun got a lot of traction on blogs and worldstar for being a delusional cac caricature. Iggy has relatively no exposure in that scene, yet she currently has the #1 rap song in America and her YouTube numbers are serious. Iggy is on pop radio, similar to Macklemore, she can bypass the "streets" completely and still do better than most rappers who have a buzz in these "streets."

exactly. you pretty much nailed it. iggy isnt good and is definitely capitalizing off her looks. but she made smarter moves career wise and kreayshawn was just being made completely fun of, her song was catchy.. but in a way that's like ironic..like wtf is this? something you didn't wanna admit to being catchy and knowing the words to. i dont like iggy, but i do see what her appeal could possibly be to her fanbase. her fanbase is probably white college chicks
