I'd rather they do a remaster for modern consoles. You know Square's going to add unnecessary shyt like they did in the 7 remake.

I mean, looking at Exp 33's success, you know people would love a faithful remake.

FOMO hit me hard. Man, I would never survive as a PC only breh :mjcry:
This is their chance to redo that garbage ass laughing scene in English. I know it was supposed to be awkward but they didnt communicate it well.

Look I think the writing in the Remakes is kind of shyt (specifically the endings) and maybe it's because I didn't grow up with the OG games (I played the OG in 2023 after playing Remake) but to me the Remakes aren't a replacement for the OG so I can excuse their faults, so I don't have that nostalgic attachment to them like the Day 1 guys.

The Remake/Rebirth combat system clears XVI though. XVI is mindless button mashing.:mjlol:

I’m not ashamed to say I cried during the rebirth ending. I don’t remember the last time a game hit me like that.

I don’t know how a true fan wouldn’t love the remake. I spent so much time just fukking around running loops on the world map just to hear the banter and the ad libs from the party like :wow::obama::blessed:

It’s like they made the game a living Saturday morning cartoon.

The battle system became absurd if you knew how to abuse it. I would just focus on 1 character at a time and make them OP. Yuffie my main most of the game

:skip: it's better yes but did we play the same game? XVI is about chaining combos. There is a lot of button mashing but it's not mindless.

How? That's quite literally the best part of the game lol. I'm just baffled as to how someone can play this and be like "This combat is not good." Like compared to XV? XVI? Rebirth mops the floor with Mr. Clean every time.

Idk man, i just can't lol.

Like, FFXVI's combat system is what I'd describe as "doesn't know what it's even trying to do." not Rebirth.

Idk I'll forever think the online vitriol against Rebirth in some circles is so far fetched it almost feels like a paid campaign by some chinese nikkas lol.
it tries to do action and turn based at the same time and really misses the mark at both. the action component is so watered down that you're waiting for skills/magic, but the skills magic have you working against the action the whole time. so just wait for big attacks and swing for the fences - thats it. that's the game.

its textbook style over substance to me too. its somehow worse than tales of arise when arise had its combat on repeat after the 15 hour mark. neither is done at a high level and all of the endgame content just had my eyes glazing over....

i was actually avoiding the main thread this whole time because at release I thought I was tripping - then I saw the sales numbers and realized it wasn't just me. between the combat doing nothing great and every character/event being degraded in some weird way, i can see exactly why SE went back to the drawing board

I completely disagree with this take but since I know you're not a disingenuous poster like some others I'll respect your opinion. :yeshrug:

I genuinely appreciate that :ehh: happy holidays
Walking a thin line, a few more criticism of Sony supported projects and your takes can't be trusted or appreciated.

With that said, I 100 percent disagree with you. The combat is almost peak perfection of turn base and action.
