The demo is so good, literally takes you down memory lane. I actually really enjoyed it, it’s just a shame it’s in parts as would love to run through this as a whole.

Yes. Most Final Fantasy games have their own self-contained story that's not related to past games.

In fact it might be better for you since you don't know what'll happen.

You can but unlike those of us who played the original, you’ll be waiting years before the final game to know the full story as this is only part one of a possible trilogy. And we don’t even know when part 2 is coming out.
