So what chapter were you on where you had the most hours, and how many hours was that? I’m on 14 at 37 or 38 hours.
I probably spent 7 hours in Ch9 because I leveled up at the coliseum for awhile. I wish I stayed longer cause now that I don't have Aerith battles takes me longer. I'm at 51 hours in and probably gonna spend another 7 hours in the coliseum in Ch 14. I'm not solely leveling up. I'm also experimenting with builds and slowly learning combat tactics. In Hard Mode, EXP is doubled, so I'm only gonna level up materia needed for Hard Mode. I can level up the other materia in Hard Mode itself.

With the right build that's focused on magic attack damage, Aerith is Over-Powered and perfect for killing every enemy on screen simultaneously. If they really kill Aerith forreal at some point in the Remake episodes there's gonna be a whole new generation of gamers crying forreal. Was she this OP in the original? I think I neglected her back then.

Lol I don’t know because I’m using the same team as I am now.

:russ::mjlol:

I think she would be OP for healing.

I don’t know what it is with me, but I just like attacking for some reason and don’t really use magic.

Like in Kingdom Hearts I always pick the attack option in the beginning of the games.

I be watching Kingdom Hearts videos and dudes be doing these moves with magic that I didn’t even know you could do in the game.

Im looking at it like, magic makes the game that much easier huh?

Aerith was good for me too when I had her because her MP was so high. It sucks because I just started knowing how to really use materia and she would have been nice.

I’m trying to make Barret that now, but his MP is pretty low, but his attack and health make up for what she had.

How do you use her to make her so good to be Op? What spells you use?

And I wonder if the coliseum will take around 7 hours for me.

You can beat all the missions in the coliseum in a couple minutes it's not long. Its the grinding to max out materia that's long.

My OP Aerith build is basically going to your weapon upgrade menu and making sure you unlock all magic attack + and elemental damage, fire etc.

Equip MP Up and Magic Attack Up materia.

Use a connecting materia for max Fire and Magnify

With First Strike. So that's 5 materia's already.

At the beginning of a match your first ATB is maxed. Instantly cast Fire, Fira or Firaga depending on how strong the enemies are. You will usually nuke everyone if you've done it before the enemies separate cause if they get too far the fire might not bounce back to them and reach them in time. It's basic grouping tactics you learn in games like God of War and Dynasty Warriors maynnee

If you use magnify on one enemy does it do more damage?

damn how hard is hard mode compared to normal and in general as a game (getting use to the new combat system n whatnot is probably the most difficult part)? i tend to play on the hardest levels of any game.

Since you can't use items in this mode, I end up dying mid way through the fight and/or lose MP. It's a pain. I gotta really check my materias.
The materia and item I put in bold in the 2nd paragraph does not cost MP
Each character should at least have a maxed First Strike materia, a maxed Revive materia and a maxed barrier materia. Rank 3 barrier halves physical and magic damage and lasts a long time. Revive materia cause you gonna die alot and you really need this because there are no checkpoints. And First Strike so that you can instantly use your abilities or spells.

Because you should limit magic use, that's where mastering the basic combat comes into play so you definitely need materia that doesn't cost magic use such as using ATB Boost materia to get your maxed Prayer ability ready with Healing Carcanet equipped should fully heal entire team. Also you can use the HP Absorption materia in combination with Deadly Dodge to fill your HP back up.

For most enemies I'd link magnify materia with Fire since that kills most enemies in the game.
Or you can link magnify with Healing materia.

Pray on Barret and HP Up mods are a big deal.

I was also more of a fan of Barrier + Magnify than Healing + Magnify.

Up to you there though. Just remember that Barret's Magic stat is terrible so anything that scales off of it isn't worth the investment. Effects though? Money.

Gotta get familiar with Lifesaver too. Vastly underrated imo

I'm trying to get through normal mode not using items and magic as less as possible in preparation for Hard Mode. Items and excessive magic use has been a crutch I relied on for far too long.

I read that you won't need too many multiple casts of barrier due to it lasting a long time is this true? I'm only just now learning about barrier. Haven't really used it yet.
