Kotaku getting killed for giving semi criticizing review of the demo.

I understand where they are coming from and will probably feel the same way. Playing the game and knowing that you re gonna be play like two-sixths or 1 fourth of a game is kinda jarring. Especially when the next part of the game probably won't be release until 2022 at the very earliest but more realistically 2023-2024 at which point you still have another 1 to 2 games to go.....

If you've never played FF7 you're golden (outside of probably getting major spoilers which complete kills some of the "umph" of what made the game) but you'll at least wont have a road map of this this and this needs to happen or how close you are or should be to the end.
Did the details of the episodes get officially laid out yet? I really do doubt it would be 4 episodes and I thought I read something about the next episode being released next year but Im probably wrong.

Barrett's voice is about what I expected him to sound like. :yeshrug:

Right. Brehs gotta realize that while they're right, Square wants to keep the characters true to the localization. He's not originally supposed to talk like this either in the PS1 version, and the very first trailer with the OG voice actors had Barret sounding way more different than how he sounds now. But people grew up with this version of Barret so everything else be damned, they have to keep him that way.

Plus in the demo, you never get the impression that Barret is dumb either, he sounds EXACTLY like what you'd expect a passionate Eco-Terrorist to sound like. You can tell he's the leader of AVALANCHE, he's not just a dude with a gun arm.

It's not the VA's fault for Barret's intonation and inflections. That's solely on the Voice Over Producers and Square Enix higher ups themselves wanting Barret to sound that way. But going off what I've played, it's not that bad. Most of it is him cussing Cloud out lmao.

Boy, they ramped up Jessie's thirst for Cloud by a 100. You could tell she was interested in the original game, but she really trying to get her back blown out by dude in this Mako Reactor. :shaq:

She even sent Biggs beyond the friendzone at one point.

As for the game, it's great. Enjoyed the moveset for both Cloud and Barrett. Being able to switch to a slower style for Cloud that comes with a counter is nice. And pumping up for Barrett's charge shot is fun. Can't wait to start delivering the beats to nikkas with Tifa, though.

Only real complaint is that they felt the need to make every theme sound orchestral. I liked my bleeps and bloops from the original Mako reactor theme, for example. Thought they would've made it back in some fashion.
