It's not the same, the classic mode just automates the new battle system and makes it feel like you're not actually playing the game.
There wasnt enough to conclude if the action hack and slash style of battle is trash or not, it was fun, but knowing square enix, they'll find a way to fukk it up.
I would have rather had an updated battle system in the same vein as ff10.

Hated the button mashing.....loved the boss fight....almost lost it...

I was watching YongYea and swore the Barret voice actor was white
it was that badI swore I would check
I didnt even like the boss fight, the battle system made it feel like a "bulletsponge" type battle.

Enjoyed that demo. Combat felt a bit wonky during the boss but then it started to click. Felt the same way about the XV demo. I think this will be solid

i gotta get used to the technicalites of commanding my team, switching out, and dodging enemy attacks. I killed the boss in one try but i barely made it

I enjoyed the demo, that boss fight was hectic, can't imagine how hard the Weapons are gonna be in this game

Combat is pretty good but it feels like there's a lot to keep track of. The boss fight and the storm troopers at the end gave me a rough time.
Also I didn't know until today that they're releasing the game in episodes. I was super excited but that news kinda blew me a bit, although it's probably for the best considering how much content was in the original.

The amazing thing about that was it all released at once.
It was kind of part of the reason you knew you were in for a treat, not 1 disk, not 2... but 3?
Game had to be amazing.
