There's ways to regenerate it still but you gotta be way more reserved in how you spend it.
Regenerating it using the MP regeneration unlocks in Weapon Upgrades is one way, what's another. Nvm I'll Google.

Changes in Hard Mode
Hard Mode features a number of changes that make it more challenging when going through chapters of the main story again.

  • Powerful enemies even very early on in the game.
  • Greatly increased EXP and AP obtained in battle (x3 EXP and x2 AP)
  • Consumable items cannot be used in and out of battle.
  • Only HP is restored when resting, not MP.
  • New challenges in Shinra Combat Simulator that reward rare items
MP can be recharged by finding Mako shards in Shinra crates.

Link magic materia with the elemental support materia. This allows you to exploit the elemental weakness of enemies without casting spells. Use your MP for healing or revive spells instead.
Another Hard Mode tip:

Make use of Reprieve
Reprieve is an ability that allows the character to withstand an attack that would otherwise knock him out. Having reprieve can be handy against formidable opponents like juggling multiple enemies on boss fights. The downside is that the ability can only be used once per battle. Comes from Cloud's Twin Stinger sword obtained in Ch. 17.
I'm just now looking at all the sword stats. Buster Sword is the most well-balanced end-game worthy sword in the game.

However Hardedge has stronger physical attack and Mythril Blade has stronger magical attack.
Looks like I should figure out builds for all 3.

I need to start writing shyt down cause I be forgetting my set ups.

Yeah you keep your materia, inventory and items.

The problem is that the enemies scale in difficulty according to your level. This means no matter how high you get, even at the Level cap of 50, it makes no difference.

They need to make a materia where you can block mid attack because I can’t stand when enemies can attack you when you fukkin them up.

Ohh so I noticed you can damage the field generator if you're behind the first boss after it's barrier goes up. :ohhh:

Damn the battle system is way more involved on hard mode. shyt got me thinking.

That's not a hard mode change... I'm shocked you were able to beat it without knowing that in the first place

I must've just been damaging it by luck but didn't notice it. FINALLY beat that boss on hard. That shyt was intense :blessed:

@42 Monks @Dre Space Age that "Pray" materia came in handy because it allowed me to not use MP but still healed along with barrier. Scorpion got cooked :blessed:. shyt felt amazing when I beat him. Gameplay is :wow:

I thought he was talking about from Normal Mode to New Game Plus.

My bad. We don’t know much about Episode 2, however, it is possible to transfer that shyt over. It’s happened for other games.
