preordered by the way:mjcry:

just waiting on October 9th.

I'm bout to get get some amazing backgrounds from the screenshots ima be taking:whoo:

I personally didnt hate the game. like I said numerous times I didnt finish it but not because I personally felt it was a subpar game, I just felt it overstayed its welcome...if you know what I mean. like I liked and beat 13-2. it ended around the same I time played to in 13, just under 30 hours. my personal feeling toward 13 is that it would have been a much better experience(once again, for me) if it was a 30 hour RPG and paced accordingly.

I'm negging the next person that posts a metacritic score as justification of buying or liking a game without an explanation behind it.
Positives:
Fun battle system that prioritizes strategy over levels. You can't even grind in the game because once you hit the proper level experience slows to almost nothing. You have to plan out paradigms to beat the bosses.
Sazh a very solid and respectable black character. Actually the best character in the game.
Graphics were very nice.
Challenging monster hunts in Ch 11
Interesting leveling system that allows you to build up characters however you want once halfway through the game.

Negatives:
Poorly presented story most of which is obtained through read-only datalogs
Closed environments with no world map and exploration in the game
Half the game is a tutorial even when it doesn't need to be which is OK the first time through but annoying the second because you already know how to put together paradigms.
Half the main cast are either idiots or annoying.

Most of what you play in a JRPG is the battle system which is good here so I fail to see how the game is garbage. If you're only playing for story this isn't the game for you. If you're only playing for exploration JRPGs only give the illusion of it anyway so why bother with the genre?

The game is a 7.5 to an 8. There are worse Final Fantasy games like 8 which has a crap story, the whole main cast of the game (Squall and his party not Laguna) is trash, and a garbage broken and annoying battle system.

Really?? I always see people consider 8 as a terrible FF game but I enjoyed what I played. :yeshrug:

I think 8 is the worse of the more modern series IV and above when they started having real characters in the cast. When I played through it when released it was ok for its time but having played through it again a couple years ago it was pretty poor.

The plot, the cast, the battle system, all of it isn't that hot. There's not much to like about the game outside the ending sequence as the credits roll which was one of the better endings of a Final Fantasy.
