Not making excuses breh because once 98 came they were still nice. It's not like the collective skill of dudes fell off..they were better on forever than they were on 36 and the rhymes continued to be on point. Again, lack of direction is the key. You get :flabbynsick: when the skills take a nosedive and the only cat in wu to experience that is Cappa. Fukk, Tip hasn't fallen off to take it back to Tribe. He continued to be dope and kill it on the mic each time out. Whether you fukked with the music or not is a personal taste thing but objectively, he didn't suddenly get rusty and forget how to rap or stop being a dope rapper. Same with Wu as a whole and individually minus Cap. Prodigy is an example of falling off (no diss to the mobb)

having a sharp skillset and making classic music are 2 different things.

they were sharper on forever than on 36 chambers. but 36 is by far the superior album.

I dapped you due to agreeing 36 is the better album but I still say they're both classic. One being more superior than the other isn't a knock:whoknows:

forever is a 4.25 at best.

the 2nd disc is literally worthless aside from a few tracks.

Eeeeeeeh agree to disagree on that one breh. The first disc is obviously the stronger set but I wouldn't say it's worthless..especially literally worthless since I'm sure it cost a pretty penny to press the disc up:troll:

Group, solo, guest appearances, beats, MIC PRESENCE, CHARISMA, CHARACTER and all round hip hop rawness Wu Wins. I doubt there will ever be another hip hop collective as strong.

That's basically all that needs to be said here. I love Tribe, and mostly all the groups that's been in this thing, but after 20 years that has included careers of some of the best MCs in the game, classic material, and global impact and visibility... it's almost silly to say Wu ain't the GOAT group. Saying Tribe is better only because they had 2 albums that rivals (or tops, to some of y'all) any 2 from Wu is crazy.

Breh disc 2 is kinda tough: Triumph, Impossible, Little Ghetto Boy, The MGM, Heaterz, Hellz Wind Staff, Deadly Melody, Bells of War, Duck Season..and that's most of that disc. Those are my fav off of it and I just named damn near the whole disc minus the City and projects and black shampoo

This is the 1st thing nikkas do when arguing about the Wu place in history. If we talking better group then those shouldn't be included.

My vote is for Tribe
:patrice:I'm kinda iffy on including solos too. I understand WU solos are a significant extension of the group but they're just that, an extension. Group vs. Group, I'm going with Tribe. If you're gonna add 20 solo albums to the equation, make it a native tongues vs. wu tang debate:gladbron:

Exactly. Wu fell off commercially. The rhymes were exquisite in 97 though. What killed the Wu was when they started releasing all the follow-up solos without wall-to-wall RZA production. Plus all the Wu affiliates were diluting the brand. But mostly, commercial tastes changed. Nothing they could do about that.

Only a lot of the affiliates carried the flag when that W started getting tired.

I don't see a problem with counting the first wave of solos as group albums; they are. They have more collabos than solo material on them anyway. It's like counting Speakerboxxx/The Love Below as group and solos. If you wanna go crews vs Wu, you have to include the Killabeez and then it's still not fair.

Wu is the greatest group of all-time.
