I witnessed my ex boss and the other racist attorneys crack all types of jokes and stereotypes about black people.

I engaged them a few times but I started ignoring it because I needed the check

I know it sound c00nish but I took a few Ls financial wise last year and I thought it would get better.

edit: I see you were HR. So you should go online and report the racism on websites like glassdoor, yelp, google review or whatever else.

Whatever you can do to reduce that BS for the next black person.

For example, when I was in undergrad I noticed whenever I took an exam them cac professors were watching me like a hawk. Standing right behind me, always looking at me etc. They swore my black ass was gonna cheat, and they had their Indian dogs watching me too. I reported their ass to the department and to the dean and threatened to video and sound record them in future classes to make sure they don't do it to other black students.

Don't you still fukk around with white women? As recently as a few years ago?

They fukked around with me....they still approach me. I have yet to meet a black woman that was interested in me on that level in real life unfortunately. A couple do. I had to change myself completely to get to that point (makeover, losing my glasses, etc). My suburban upringing and being African/West Indian with the cultural barrier held me back in that regard. Now that I'm older it's whatever. I really don't even like talking about it....even in real life when people bring it up. At 31 year of age I've never had anything close to a real relationship.

My sisters had a hard time having relationships because of the cultural barrier too. They're both single. My older sister will probably never get married. Being Nigerian my family either wants me to date/marry Nigerian first foremost. I've only met two Nigerian women in my life. One dated a white guy.

I wasn't trying to knock the work you do but trying to draw a distinction between what's allowable behavior between mom and pop shop and a corporation of any size

I see what you're saying and with it being an independent law firm, it's not like there's some type of higher up. Which is one of the negatives that come with working for independent law firms .


I do prefer to work for those types of law firms simply because it's a whole lot more flexibility compared to a big Corp law firm.

The New gig is a large independent law firm and it's pretty modern and diverse compared to the other law firms I've work for.
