Finally read Cosbys whole speech. Why would a black person disagree?

The NAACP is something the media will cover. However, if he went to black churches, historically black colleges, black venues etc. the media wouldn't be there, and if it was, not nearly as much.

I have no problem with him wanting more from his people, but I DON'T like other people (whites) shytting on us and manipulating his words for their disingenuous benefit.

I agree. My sole issue with his speech is that it's been conveniently utilized by whites to shame and condemn black people and justify society's systematic racism.

No, I'm not perpetuating white supremacy. I'm intepreting and addressing the points Cosby made in his speech. The fact that, after reading my posts in this thread, you came up with the BS that I'm siding with the white supremacist power structure shows that you're intellectually deficient and an ignorant c00n.

tl;dr: go fukk yourself.
I explained exactly how you're perpetuating white supremacy fakkit. You perpetuate it by trying to downplay it. You agreeing with another poster saying "systematic racism is nothing but a bullshyt cop out" is proof. You are siding with the white supremacist power structure which is why you don't hold it responsible. White supremacists and c00ns like you/Cosby don't tell the truth, you tell half trust and that's why you should be shyt on. You cannot talk about the problems of the black community by ignoring or trying to downplay the systematic white supremacy that oppresses the black community. You c00ns love preaching personal responsibility to blacks all while absolving whites of their personal responsibility.
Blacks pulling their pants up, speaking proper English, and naming their kids "white" names, ect isn't going to protect them from systematic white supremacy. c00ns like you simply refuse to acknowledge that.

No shyt Sherlock? Racist whites use the c00n-rhetoric of a famous (formerly)respected black man to try and give credence to their racism against the black community? What a surprise!

Straight out the fukkin' dungeons of rap
his examples came off very wrong and sounds like he was pandering to lowkey racist whites

"B-B-UT IF HE hadnt stole the pound cake he wouldnt have been shot!"

who the fukk thinks that's an acceptable punishment? what kind of educated person thinks that was a valid point?

shyt, nowdays all you gotta do is reach for the waistline ever so slightly, fukk stealing something

it seems people dont realize this but responsibility is NOT an innate characterstic, that comes with education. Education that is also unequal in its distribution because redlining and other racist real estate practices forced communities and neighborhoods to decay around black people

"b-but how didnt you know the boy had the pistol"

um, why was the pistol THAT available in the first place? don't you think that relates to a bigger problem of guns in the country?

A lot of people are butt-hurt that Cosby called out the black community for collectively dropping the ball, especially in the time periods since Brown v. board of Education and the Civil Rights Movement. Although systematic racism and discrimination plays a huge role in the black community's current state and dysfunction, Cosby was right for calling us all out and begging us to take personal responsibility for our decisions (by going to school, speaking properly, dressing accordingly, treating ourselves with respect, etc.) instead of begging white society to change or solely relying on God.

Needless to say, this message didn't go over so well with many members of the black community (nor did it go down well with the white liberal media). A major reason why the speech didn't go down so well is because white conservatives have utilized Cosby's speech to slam the condition of the black community. To many people, there was very little difference between Cosby's speech and Bill O'Reilly's rant against minorities.

However, despite the harsh delivery of Cosby's speech, one cannot validly argue that Cosby was lying or that he wanted to attack blacks. There was a great deal of unadulterated truth in his speech and the people who continue to hate on the substance of his speech obviously had their nerves struck (or are even guilty of what Cosby was speaking against).

At the very worst, Cosby's delivery was rude and judgmental. But the most objective person would find that the substance of his speech was nothing but the truth. Some don't like the truth, though.

A yo....why the fukk do you keep insisting yourself into these convos, and speaking on black issues in such a negative, agenda-driven tone when you're obviously not black? What kind of black person uses the phrase "butt hurt". STFU.

Ay yo, f uckboi....why do you insist on trolling me?...go f uck yourself and leave me be.

I don't speak on black issues with an agenda. I just call it like it is. It's cats like you who inject emotion into these discussions. And I'm black. Want to do a Venmo bet? $1,000. Please. Do it. We put our money up and I'll put up my pic with a sign of my coli handle. If not, then shut the f uck up.

You're a lost cause and a c00n. Point. Blank. Period.

I'm done with you. I don't want to engage in any further dialogue with you.

Knew what breh? About his son getting killed?

Edit:Every mother i see on the news with crocodile tears, claiming he was a good kid are usually the ones with the record and moms know damn well what he was into. Ironically those the ones who upset the most.
all this is true. but what is also true and not being said? what lead to this epidemic in the black community? the same thing that lead to the epidemic with native americans being alcoholics and having to go to gamblers anonymous.

What is the one constant in those two situations? its not black people. So what is it?
White Supremacy my friends. read up on it. understand it. Then you will understand why the hood is the hood like you see today.

There will always be bad seeds in any group of people. white, asian, black, hispanic, etc.

But to have the high numbers black people have in comparison to is whats alarming. There's only two reasons for that. you choose which one.

#1 blacks are inferior to whites at the DNA level. This is what a lot of whites have taught and some have thought. but a lot of those at the top know better because if we go back in history you see black folks running ish and being the civilized vs the uncivilized.

or #2 blacks are victims and what you see is PTSD like symptoms from all the trauma from all the centuries dealing with Racism White Supremacy. unlike a soldier dealing with PTSD after he/she is back home away from the war. Blacks never are out of the war until Racism White Supremacy stops. so not only are they victims of what has happened to them in the past. they are CURRENTLY victims of keeps happening to them today.

The truth is.. and some black folks wont admit this. #2 has actually caused #1. let that sink in for a moment.

ask yourself what happens to a person if you put a mentally healthy, highly intelligent person in solitary confinement for a year. Do you think that person would come out Ay OK? science tells you NO. So why do you think Black people would be AY OK after centuries of Abuse.. THink about it people.

The black community is more literate and more educated now than Cosby's generation every dreamed of being. Teenage pregnancy is the lowest it's every been right now. Like ever. The problems we do have are inter-generational, but the way Cosby talks, they just came out of nowhere. It's like he thinks the new generation just up and reversed all the good work of their parents. No, no no...the fukked up people of this generation have fukked up parents and fukked up grandparents and their great grandparents were probably fukked up. Cosby's speech is ahistorical, lacks context, and fails to point out the great strides this generation has made over previous generations, that's why I feel it's disingenuous.

But bruhette..

I'm tired of explainin. I'm tired of excuses. I'm tired of "bu bu but look at what happened to us :sadbron: "

How many fukking times do we have to pass around the fukking Willie Lynch letter and all agree "mm hmm that's what they're doing to us mm hmm", but then don't do shyt about combatting it :wtf:

On a public forum (such as the way Cosby's speech got delivered) yeah I would want the history of how we got here explained FIRST before the criticisms flew...

But if we amongst ourselves?, man fukk all that bu bu but this what happened shyt.

By now 2014 we ALL KNOW it's not our fault that we're like this.

We know that there's been systematic fukking-over of us at play for the past hundreds of years. We don't need to keep harpin on dat shyt.

Now is the time to look WITHIN and start fixing shyt from the inside out. fukk all that 'bu bu but the white man did this' type shyt it's sink or swim time now mothafukkas. 2015. We either improve our position, or we get eaten up like shark food while complaining about being in said position.
