I'm tired of being #skinnygang 6'1 150. So I've decide to join a gym close by that a buddy goes to who is very much into eating right and working out for 7-8 years and he knows the proper techniques.

What are some cheaper brands of protein and pre work out mixes that you guys have tried? Or websites? Or really if you have any pointers for a beginner. Just let me have them. I want to go for a more Lean look then bulky to if that matters. Tryin to get to 170-175 an see how I feel.

I use the walmart brand (strawberry) its usually on sale for 17 dollars no more than 20. Protein is usually the same just different digestive methods and sugar counts. Since your just getting back into the gym, I wouldn't worry about the supplements too much just workout and eat healthy for a few months and you'll win.

Everything from Walmart works fine, get you some protein and creatine.

Take those two when needed, eat relatively clean, do some cardio and lift hard, watch them gains come:wow:

I tend to focus on certain muscle groups per day. Chest day, back, legs, etc. Google routines associated with them and even take a shot at mixing them up. Eat good and clean and sleeping well helps out A LOT. Obvious but many people tend to neglect that a bit.

That routine you posted is good, but it just focuses on chest and triceps. I know you're gonna switch it up and target other muscles. Do a search on sites like Bodybuilding.com to give you an idea on different exercises and routines to try. Play around with options and see what routines you like the best and do em for a while. Then switch it up cuz your body gets too comfortable and adjusts doing the same thing so many times in a row. Also focus on form bruh. Can't stress that enough. Don't go up in weight too quickly to boost your ego. Everyone starts somewhere. Good form with good weight is the key to growing your muscles. Besides food and sleep of course :jawalrus:

Get on your grind bruh :salute:

Bench for chest
Close grip bench for triceps
Do arm curls (regular, close n wide grip) with the bar and dumbells. Search for exercises you can do for the dumbbells, there's a lot you can do with those. Standing and sitting. Hammer curls, preacher curls, etc. Also forearm exercises if the weight is light enough for ya. Gotta stay light for those.
Bent over rows with the barbell and one armed dumbbell rows for the back.
Standing shoulder press, upright shoulder rows and shoulder shrugs can be down with both the bar and Dumbbells depending on the weight. Your gonna be limited regardless with that equipment, but that will definitely get you started somewhere. Investing in a pull-up bar can help too if you got a spot for it.

Also the standard sit-ups, v-ups and crunches to get those abs popping

Also best you google those exercises to get a full understanding on form and how they hit those muscles. Google is your best friend for things like this :blessed:

I just looked up all those exercises. Should I do them all ever day ? Or every other? Or only certain ones?

Don't wanna over work or underwork my muscles.

@MF budz I usually hit every muscle group twice a week, but since your starting out I would dedicate one day to one or two muscle groups. Everybody's body reacts different so the more you exercise the more you'll be able to adjust your workout on your own. Preferably I would start out with focusing on one muscle group a day like chest. Then another day for back. Shoulders for one day and maybe combine both biceps and triceps for another for an arm day. Maybe 4-5 exercises for each day with about 4-5 sets for each exercise. Usually 8-10 reps is the ideal range for building muscles imo. If that's too much or too little adjust ur routines more as you go on. I'd say lift for about 3-5 days a week. Give your body a day in between to rest, but if you feel like you can hit those weights two days in a row go for it. You can probably fit some abs and cardio in at the end of some workouts. You'll also be able to start asking more specific questions the more you get into it, and we'll all be more than willing to answer em on here. You also mentioned you have something for your legs as well? Don't forget those legs

Doing as much legs and core as I can today. Don't want those chicken legs, I want tree trunks. My arms feel it from yesterday and I love it.

Those v ups got my and feeling something serious. Did some stair running today too. Did arms and chest(Pecs are the number one thing I know that I will have trouble getting) again and legs.

Anyone have tips on gaining flexibility(pause)?or will that just naturally happen after stretching an working out? Like I said my buddy takes yoga so I might tag along for the class.....and honeys :shaq:

If I'm working out in the morning do I want to eat before or after? Or should I be drinking the prework out before and smash after? Just want to get the most out of it.

I normally work out early in the morning before work, so I don't bother with eating anything. If u do eat beforehand I suggest waiting an hour or so afterwards before working out. Then eat some kind of protein or protein shake after your workout for some muscle growth and recovery. Take the preworkout beforehand. My best workouts usually happen when I do it with an empty stomach, but I know some people than prefer differently.
