One of my co-workers dad passed away. She’s from Guyana. Went to her dad’s funeral and as far she was concerned, she only had two other half siblings when her dad remarried.
Gets to the funeral and sees multiple different children of different races crying at her dad’s funeral.
She said thank God the only thing he left behind was all these b*stard children, because if he had a will, that estate would be split into crumbs.

It wasn’t nothing for a married man to have several kids outside kids in last generations especially in the country backwoods where I live. Dudes would be having whole families, but in the next town over some woman and child he’s sneaking to go see on the low.
A lot of families would low key have sex offenders in them. You can’t leave none of the young adolescent girls around Uncle Rufus alone.
The church pastors smashing a lot of their female church members.
Some family member strung out on drugs or in and out of jail, so granny, pawpaw, an aunt, or uncle had to take of their kids and raise them as their own.
Dudes taking care of another man’s kids unknowingly.
Before I even knew what homosexuality was when that was a much more low key underground lifestyle my aunt who used to take me to her church occasionally had a gay piano player in the choir. I knew something was a little different about dude, but it didn’t sink in until years later.
^^^ I saw all of the abovementioned in the Deep South where I lived not specifically in my immediate family, but it was around in neighbors families and with others that were close to me. All those stereotypical tropes derived from real life situations. None of this shyt under the sun is new you just didn’t have social media and the internet 30 years ago.
