You can't trade him until April, because he signed the contract extension during the season. So they can't trade him until the off-season, which is when his new contract kicks in. It's still early in the season. Do we really have to wait til the playoffs every year for Norm to look like a star

Unrelated, but hopefully Masai hits on their 2nd round pick next year. The Raps receive the lower pick out of the Magic and Lakers 2nd round picks. It'll be a pick in the 30s, so hopefully they can get a contributor with that pick.

He did just get back from an injury
But he is definitely a bench piece, and guys like Faried, Plumlee, Marvin Williams, Josh Richardson, Olynyk, etc, earn around the same amount as he does. Imagine if he was signed in the same summer as Bazemore, Deng, Biyombo and Mozgov...Norm might be a near max player

He's gonna be here for a while. There wasn't a lot of interest in him during the draft when Masai tried to trade Norm. There's not a lot of expiring contracts on the market. Almost every team has a shytty contract that they need to unload, so there aren't a lot of good deals out there. The Raps have little to no cap space, and they don't have their 1st next year. They just gotta hope he eventually contributes like he did last spring.
Its crazy how quickly hes fallen off in half a season...Hes fallen behind Van Vleet on the depth chart,who saw that coming ?
Everything in his game has declined,hes got tunnel vision like a mufukka and hes got that Demar/Kyle anxiety on the floor when hes not playing well where hes trying to make it up in the next possession.
Forcing his game on the team and hes compounding the mistakes...Hes been a disaster this year.
Those straight line drives where he loses the ball,gets stripped or runs someone over are just infuriating..worst part is when he squeezes thru a wall and then still misses the open layup at the rim
