Agree that his PnR defense is bad and that's actually leading to him not protecting the rim properly. If allowed to play a big one on one defensively, he can hold his own. But anyway, yes this is why he's benched in 4th quarters.
Also agree on the player vs coach aspect. But I wouldn't get rid of the coach. I just cannot ignore the strides we've made. I guess it's easier to evaluate once we see what we accomplish come season's end.

No injuries,not enough rest,didnt have home court...we have everything in our favor now for the first time including an injured Kyrie and Bron and a mediocre ass supporting cast...If they cant do it under these circumstances at the very least you have to fire the coach...
JV's rim protecting is actually more about him just being slow to make decisions than it is with his PnR defense.I see many times during a game where a player drives the lane and instead of making a play on the ball he holds his man and allows layups or dunks....Ive heard that be argued into him having to play defense on 2 guys but its truthfully just him making bad reads on what to do....
I will never shyt on him of he leaves his man to contest a layup and then winds up allowing a drop off dunk as a result...That aint his fault.
What IS HIS FAULT is when he sticks to his man and allows an uncontested layup or dunk at the rim....Your job as a 5 is to protect the rim first and foremost,if you get caught in a 2 on 1 thats never your fault as a center...thats Lowry or DeRozans fault...
