Palm Beach County School District police have arrested an 18-year-old Santaluces High School graduate on charges that she tipped off a drama teacher that police were investigating allegations he had sex with two underage students.
Perpetua Michel, 18, who graduated from Santaluces in May, was arrested Monday and released on the condition that she appear in court Oct. 30, school district spokesman Nat Harrington said.
Drama teacher Andrew Foster had begun his fourth year at Santaluces when a former student told police on Sept. 3 that she had a sexual relationship with him.
Several members of the drama club, including Michel, were at one member's home on Sept. 3 when police arrived and the group engaged Foster in a phone call as part of the investigation, according to a report by School District Police Officer Vincent Mintus.
Michel used her cell phone to text-message Foster on his cell phone that he "was being trapped and to end this conversation," Mintus said in the report. The call ended abruptly, interrupting the gathering of information crucial to the case that included additional victims of sexual battery, the report said.
