Fired for being five minutes late

Yep, I was "warned"about this before.. I was a few minutes late a few times before, according to them all were under 7 minutes..

Damn breh you bring back memories... I was fired from a GOV Job before for being late alot... The worst part is the job was about 15 mins away.. Which was part of the problem.. I always felt i could get there on time.

I'm late a few times a week, sometimes half an hour to an hour late. Thankfully the manager I report to lives in another state, so she has no idea when I'm coming and going. Plus I always forward my desk phone to my cell to catch any of her calls just in case.

Like someone said before, it had to be another reason. If companies followed that same pattern 3/4 of their staff would technically be fired.

Should have used that gangsta ass Metro system they have out there, I know for a fact that if it was taking you an hour plus to get there in traffic you would have gotten there on time fukking with Metro. You ain't got nobody but yourself to be mad at homie, fukked up but the truth hurts.

Man fukk the wmata, I'm at least 20 minutes away from the closest station, the job is atleast 15 minutes away.. They have delays and issues all the time. And in the case nothing goes wrong it's gaurenteed a 1:30 minute trip. F that ..

The thing is, my manager worked in Philly, and his boss who allegedly made the call works in Milwaukee, so the only way they could know is if someone told them, but there is only two people in the entire office when I get in and they never had issues. He said he checked the time I badged into the office.

So I just got fired for coming in 5 minutes late.. And not responding to emails after hours.. I'm already driving over an hour to get to work.. And to make matters worse they wait until I get in for the day to tell me..

Damn, they must feel like your easily replaceable. 7minutes? My last job at least gave people a 15 minute window to get to the job due to Atlanta traffic.
