I don't think I've learned cumbia. I'll have to look into it. Dancing is fun. I wish more men were into it.

Cumbia is hard to learn because there are no classes for it. Most Latinos learned it growing up. You either gotta learn on the fly at the club, or find a dance partner and practice via Youtube.
On a side note, I've noticed that a lot if women dance cumbia with their girl friends, way more often than in other dances. It's actually very hard for me to find a partner for a cumbia song because the follows are dancing with their girl friends. A lot of women learn to both lead and follow.
It's a very fun dance!

ah, nvm. I thought he was genuinely interested in it. My mom and dad did a few salsa dancing classes together. It looked fun.

If you brehs ever go to Costa-Rica and are in San Jose area make sure you find a monday night to go to this little bar called "El Cuartel" on Calle 23 not far from the Holiday In Aurola and Hotel Del-Rey (world famous whore house)

If you're a decent looking black breh in your 20s or 30s, can put a couple of salsa moves together... you'll be
'ing so much you'll feel the need to go to church on sunday to repent from gluttny.
I used to be there every monday and tuesday night when i lived there and charged the shyt to the company credit card buying drinks but telling the staff to charge it as if it was food.
Also on Saturday night you go to "Castro's" not far from my old apartment in Sabana Norte...
But in Castro's you gotta come correct with your salsa steps or you'll look foolish. Me and my coworker used to bounce from club to club all night and then come 2AM go into Castro's and good off latinas and gringos visiting alike.
I had some many great memories in Castro's from when i lived there (2010-2012) one of my screensaver pics on my macbook pro is a pic i took of the front of the building while driving by when i went to visit in 2018

My goal is not to pick up women, but flirting with a partner who is into me is quite exhilarating. When we're in closed position and she starts to make eye contact and smile, she rubs my arm up and down, digging her nails into my bicep ever so slightly, her chest pressed into mine, our hips moving in unison

That’s interesting—did you grow up in an area with a huge presence of Latin culture? I’ve been to a few salsa clubs and had fun for sure, but never would have sought them out if not for a friend I had that was dating a Latin man.
It is a very intimate, but fast flirty type of dancing so I can see what you mean when you describe why you enjoy it.
Good for you. Shyness can be a limit but only if you allow it.
To be honest, I don’t know other brehs that do the classes, so I was genuinely curious. Do you like Latin culture overall—I know you like the women, and the dancing, but I’m assuming your into the culture and perhaps the dancing is another Segway into the culture.
I have no idea what bachata music is, might have to look up to hear what that sounds like.
How much were these lessons?
My girlfriend keeps wanting me to do this more with her. She actually could have done dance professionally if she stayed with it. She can do salsa, bachata, tap dancing, and she was in ballet for years. It's fun but I'm super left brained and feel like it's something else for me to learn BUT I'm gonna have to do it more for my girl.

in the mid 2000s..i think around 2004 i did salsa classes for a little while with my homegirl and her moms at this club...very basic at it lol..but it was cool
