Whats the best tasting fish you catch in your opinion? I was talking with a co-worker that fishes and he says perch but that's here in Michigan.
at the sort of fish who can take those sorts of chunks out of a Marlin. Could you see what type it was, ie Tiger, Blue shark?
And you're right, they're everywhere, even up close where people are swimming, most of the time people don't even notice.
Gat dayum i can imagine how big that mako or great white was by the fact that marlin looks close to a thousand pounds...
A guilty pleasure of mine is watching marlin, swordfish, tuna being caught on youtube...
It varies depending on my location. But down here in Florida Pompano, Mangrove Snapper (The fish caught in the video), and grouper. I catch grouper at the spot in the video, but the few that I have caught have been under the size limit of 22", and I'm not trying to pay a $500 fine for keeping them. The dude I was with just showed me that spot, it was my second time fishing it. I'm going to take my daughter there tomorrow to fish it, I had to teach her how to use a cast net earlier this evening. We got plenty of live bait caught today just waiting to get off work tomorrow.
Yeah, it's amazing what's out there in that ocean man, and its still so much we don't know about "under the sea", word to Ariel. I used to want to be a Jacque Cousteau (sp) type nikka when I was around 10 years old, watching National Geographic and shyt.
The locals were saying it was a brown tip shark, but that's probably another name for one of the species of shark you listed. It wasn't a Great White though. Don't worry, the Coli will get exclusive viewing rights to the video before I put it out on the internets.
I lost a lot of video that I had from that trip of Marlin jumping out of the water over and over trying to shake that hook loose. I had to get rescued out of the ocean from my Kayak, and my ipod that had all the video was in the kayak that ended up 2 states away. I never got it back. That's another story for another ":fishtales:" thread though. I told a couple of peeps from here about it, but I'm gonna expound and detail that shyt one day or another. It's a hell of a story.
You were fishing for marlin out of a kayak ??![]()
