Humble brag thread :yeshrug:

You seem condesending :ehh:

Anyways, being fit is a lifestyle, people hate lifestyles they dont understand
No it isn't, even my roommate said people always got something to say about my body and it's out of pocket. What you interpret my threads as is up to you, but what they are is something different.

You seem presumptuous, to assume my motivation for posting a thread is condescending.

I work out a lot. I look like I work out and I dress like I work out. I center my life around being active. As I've aged I've noticed that people who are out of shape tell me these things: I'm too skinny or work out too much or I don't need to lose any weight.

How do you respond to these people who understand we're addicted to this lifestyle?
Ignore them.

Obesity is GENERALLY a sign of lack of self esteem. Yeah some people got injuries that prevent them from exercising or shyt like Thyroid problems but I've seen asthmatics run half marathons and I knew a few personally who have done bike tours.

There's also that smart dumb shyt that's prevalent in lesser educated circles where because a few quacks exist and may prescribe bad medications to unsuspecting rubes, that "Modern Medicine is a scam".

Let me assure you that is not the case and when you hit your late 50's and 60's pay attention to the cats who parrot that kind of mindset as well as the ones who did not lead active lifestyles in their 20's, 30's, and 40's.

You'll see that it's those people that develop diabetes, certain kinds of cancers, and have heart disease and high blood pressure. They'll tell you some horse shyt that you had good genetics and maybe that's true for a small portion of the population but it's not the standard.

No one is saying you have to subsist on a grain of rice and a bubble of dew from the morning grass or take 67 different supplements 3 times a day everyday at the same time...shyt I plan on having an embarrassingly large hamburger and a few beers while watching the Giants game on Sunday. But that's because I've earned that meal via cardio, lifting, and other shyt.

You're making them feel uncomfortable, this stems from the fact they know they should be doing better, just ignore them.

You're right. I don't work out to look good. I don't have a six pack. I work out to be able to play with my kids when they're teenagers and adults. I want my sons to see their dad as superman. Superman ain't flabby, feel me? I want fitness to be a part of my family.

Health isn't taken seriously enough in our community either. Rather than simply complain about it, I try to put my money where my mouth is and take ownership of my health.

My mom and brother suffer everyday because they're not in good health. I'm scared, I don't want to fall a part like them as I age. Luckily I haven't yet, but my fear is very real.

Breh almost everyone in my fam is obese and have developed health problems in their old age.

Almost all my aunts and uncles and a quite a few of my cousins. High blood pressure, diabetes...one of my uncs went into diabetic shock like last year and has not changed his habits.

That shyt is not happening to me...not if I got anything to say about it

abs don't = in great shape

I don't really have the problem the op has, most of my friends are females.

I do have one friend that swears he could beat me in any exercise, even tho he has never workout out a day in his life.

Its lowkey annoying being in shape around unfit people.

I sweatagawd if I drink a protien shake at work or do some pushups in my office, my co-workers come in and start explaining to me how they used to be fit, or how they are trying to back in shape.
Its like my pressence forces them to feel insecure about their own flabbyness. :flabbynsick:
