I work out a lot. I look like I work out and I dress like I work out. I center my life around being active. As I've aged I've noticed that people who are out of shape tell me these things: I'm too skinny or work out too much or I don't need to lose any weight.

How do you respond to these people who don't understand we're addicted to this lifestyle?
Some people feel threatened by y'all they sense that most fit people think they are above others. This one chick was saying she couldn't get with a person who is addicted to working out or obsessing how they look. Too me it seems they are insecure i salute anyone who puts in the work to mold themselves shyt ain't easy

really? thats news to me I thought abs was the end all be all to being in shape

No, cardiovascular health and slow lactic acid build up are better measures of being in shape.

Visible abs are a simply a measure of subcutaneous fat on the stomach, nothing more.
I bet Vince Wilfork has a stronger core than most people on this site.

They are insecure and projecting. I've dealt with it all my life like i'm sure you have.

Its annoying and I rarely respond to them. I'm not staying in shape for their approval anyway

People adopt the role of a harsh ass critic because they feel threatened that your success in getting fit somehow diminishes them or to simply protect their own ego.

Knowing that it's easy to brush it off and say something like "we should agree to disagree, if we switched roles we'd both be unhappy"
lowkey ether.

No it isn't, even my roommate said people always got something to say about my body and it's out of pocket. What you interpret my threads as is up to you, but what they are is something different.

You seem presumptuous, to assume my motivation for posting a thread is condescending.

Don't you only weigh like 150 pounds? You must be really cut up if people hating on your body.

But most people are content with being average/below average. Fit people just make them feel insecure

your stars are but dust on my shoes
I have a friend that used to try nitpicking at my physique, it was something I would always just try to brush off.

Eventually told him he probably wears a T-shirt to the pool and that he needs to work on himself before he comes at me. He got salty, hasn't brought up my physique since.:russ:

projection of insecurities.

They feel bad about themselves and then here YOU come, making them feel worse by merely existing.

I just tell people that ask that my life used to depend on being physically fit and the routine of working out almost every damn day for a third of my life is hard to break.

Dbl.

Spin: I hate fit a$$holes though. Who see it as a competition whenever they meet up with someone else who is fit. Had to put a few people in their place.
