Even if you take that angle after his performances early in his career he should've been out of the league after the first few years and not even eligible for back up spots. The main point of the article is he's been given a ridiculous amount of chances and in spite of all of that and his shytty performance he took his benching like he was Brady.

He barely played early in his career and he put up the numbers of a typical backup during his stint with the Bengals. Out of the league is a total stretch.

He's been given chances to be a backup and has lucked into opportunities because of injury/other guy sucking even worse. He's far from the only example of this.

Fitzpatrick was brought in as a backup for every single team listed there. The article is so poorly written it's hard to even digest what he's getting at...but still. All of those teams the intention was for him to be a backup.
He started an avg of nine games in all those places. Who's bringing in a backup for that many games?

won a few games in buffalo and the bills felt that trip-esque qb lust and signed him on the spot. stunned it didnt work out. theres so much ass at qb, yet the same retreads are passed around team to team. which is pretty much what the article is getting at. same as the coaches. same tired fukking coaches and qbs in a carousel around the league. jerry jones tried like a dozen different things to avoid having dak as qb. lucky for dallas he failed at them all

brehs I said this about Jake Locker 2 years ago

In this same article:

Let me just remind you cats who Jake Locker is....
  • he was drafted as the 8th overall pick in the 2011 draft
  • in a college game, he once went 4 for 20, with 71 yards and 2 interceptions
  • in the last game of his college career he went 5 for 16
  • he had a college record of 10 - 21
  • The only thing you need to know about his NFL career is that he was benched by a QB from LSU (nuff said)
But this nikka has potential? When you're a 6ft + white qb the sky is the limit

and Jake Locker lived in the NFL til March 2015

thiiiiiiink about that

:laff: Jake Locker announces retirement from NFL

and in this same clip, they say "locker, gabbert, that draft class...just not good" AND GABBERT WAS THE fukkN STARTER FOR THE 49ERS THIS YEAR

He's basically telling Fitz to be grateful for his opportunities, because wherever he goes, he stinks, and he has a privilege that black qb's don't get, but he still has the audacity to shyt on the team publicly.

He used Mcnabb as an example of a guy who played better than Fitz, but couldn't get a job anywhere.

He's getting at the fact Fitz stinks, and is being given chance after chance. He's getting at the fact that there's no way a black qb gets chance after chance, and no way IN HELL they get away with shytting on the whole organization like Fitz did, and everybody stays quiet about it

Fitz's comments were stupid and showed a complete lack of self awareness so I'm with you there.

Mcnabbs an odd comparison considering he had like a 15 year career. If he wanted a backup job he could have gotten one after the Vikings, who thought their future was Ponder.

:mjcry: Not brother Kaep.

:martin: How did Martz make the call and not Lovie?

Lovie/Jerry Angelo deferred too much shyt to Martz. The Bears traded Greg Olsen to Carolina because Martz's offense doesn't usually use a TE to catch passes :beli:

That was at a time when they had receivers like Johnny Knox ie. no threats. Cutler had a good rapport with Olsen too..

That writer hit all the points though :salute:

It feels like the breh @Originalman wrote this, he stays telling us about the realities of being a black QB

Breh I can't thank you enough for pinging me about this article.

This the homie Modiano...... dude one of the baddest kats to ever do it on the internet. Him, DK Wilson and Walt are the best sports writers that I have ran into the last decade.

Anyway Modiano has had some now defunct blogs and dude use to go in when it came to racism in sports. This just the tip of the ice berg. He been beating the drum for black QBs at least since 2008 and he always spits nothing but facts. I knew when I started to read the article it wasn't a regular article or hit piece.

My homie Modi if you out there got to :salute:for still fighting the good fight homie. Well done and happy you made it to the big time.

Oh and yall kats check this article out.....also written by the same guy who wrote the article in this thread.

Not true. The NFL is known for telling black QBs we dont have a spot for you because you don't want to be a backup. Then when said black QB says I am fine with being a back the NFL says well we don't have any spots for you.

Read up on the situation with Culpepper when he was going to the owners meetings to get a backup gig.

The dirty secret if you were a great to good black QB you either staying being superman or you are out the league. There is no in between most of the time. Some like James Harris said this is so you won't take any young white QBs spot if said black QB is a backup.

But we can easily see how black QBs are treated down to the lack of weapons. How the teams, media and fans treat them once they are paid. Along with how they have to prove their worth game to game and qtr to qtr. Or its ummm maybe we should go with the backup.
