no real Laker or Kobe fans would ever say Kobe better than MJ but its closer than people give credit for. The advanced stats aren't the end all be all of evaluating players. Only nikkas who never played sports rely on 100% advanced stats. Kobe showed lots of MJ-esque prowess in his career, anybody acting like Kobe was "nowhere near" MJ "not even close" is just hating. Kobe is up there in that MJ stratosphere just like LeBron is. You can be fans of both, its not that serious.

MJ vs Kobe is a worthless argument at this point though. No one is seeing this nikka MJ. Kobe had his shot and didn't quite get there. He was the last real one left pretty much along with Duncan. The newer generation of nikkas are team hopping and all that other gay shyt.

And Kobes defense had been a well celebrated ESPN narrative since long before the Colorado shyt. He earned the praise initially but once Kobe started getting more of the load on offense, his defense fell off a cliff. ESPN never told you that though obviously.

The "dare them to shoot" zone defense that Kobe played on Westbrook and Rondo would not have been celebrated if it was any other player on the defensive side. Westbrook puts up those same numbers against Curry and the media says Curry got burned.

No they dipped because he was out of his prime and deferred alot more then he did early in his career also the three point shot became alot more important then it was in the 80s
