I always knew Jordan was better but I thought Kobe was a close comparison. but it's crazy just HOW much better Jordan was :wow:
Numbers don't mean sh@t until you do a test to prove that the differences between the numbers are statistically significant within at least a 95% confidence interval...

When scientists collect numbers, they don't just stop at "this guy scored 10 points this many times, and that guy scored 7 points that many times" They do tests to determine if the difference in those numbers are significant...

Until someone actually does this, we DON'T KNOW what those numbers mean...

I do believe Jordan is better than Kobe and LeBron is better than both...But it is just an opinion until it is supported by a REAL statistical analysis...

Those numbers posted aren't...

Duncan shot .506 over 19 years.

Find another angle breh

:russell:

:upsetfavre:

Fitting that you would use :russell:as a response, being a Spurs fan and all.

How you match up against the phenom Lebron and have the lowest ratings in NBA finals history :jbhmm:

Maybe

Just maybe

Because you're :trash: offensive style is better suited for euro league or college ball, :sas1: and when you're unathletic defenders can't defend you resort to cheap tactics, :sas2:

such as intentionally fouling horrible free throw shooters (overall cheapening the NBA experience for the fans) and degrading the honor of the game. :beli:

You're favorite players stats are a product of a team effort, a great scouting department, and an amazingly brilliant head coach. :skip::pachaha:

No matter what you want to say about playoff series and 81 points, 81 points, 81 points....doesn't change the facts.

5 chips
2 MVPs
3 FMVPs
Better overall player because, you know, stuff besides scoring matters.

And also...this...

Kobe Bryant says he's jealous of Tim Duncan

ADVANCE METRICS SAY STEPH CURRY HAD A BETTER SEASON THIS YEAR THAN MJ EVER DID ..

ADVANCED METRICS :scust:

Not to mention Jordan had that eras Lebron on his team for most of his career, and the players (at his position) of his generation were shorter and not as athletic as the ones Kobe faced.

P.S.

How do you prove that Jordan has those numbers because he is better than Kobe, and not because he played on better teams or even both...?

Basketball is a team sport, how do you control for the different teammates helping Jordan? how do you control for the different opponents those two played against?

This the deeper level of thinking that is ignored in sports analysis...

When you do an experiment to see if one drug is better than another, your results will be more valid if you control the major variables and as many other variables as possible...

Damn, this shyt isn't even close. :wow:

I know brehs on here hate analytics but damn near every metric has Jordan as the GOAT.

ADVANCED METRICS DECREASE DRASTICALLY WHEN U CARRYIN PLAYERS LIKE SMUSH PARKER, KWAME BROWN, AND LUKE WALTON ON YOUR BACK DURING THE MIDST OF YOUR PRIME

THEY INCREASE SIGNIFICANTLY WHEN YOUR SECOND OPTION IS THE BEST 2WAY PLAYER IN THE LEAGUE TOR THE DURATION OF YOUR PRIME

ADVANCED METRICS ARE CIRCUMSTANCIAL. STEPHS ADVANCE METRICS WOULD NOT HAVE BEEN HALF AS GOOD THIS YEAR IF HE PLAYED FOR THE SIXERS

ADVANCED METRICS SAY IVERSON IS NOT A TOP 200 PLAYER

ADVANCED METRICS IS FOR NERDS WHO NEVER PLAYED.

QUANTIFY A SPORT BASED ON HEART AND SOUL BRODIES.

The thing is, us Kobe fans have always admitted to Jordan being better tho :yeshrug:

Jordan is what you get if you give Kobe Lebron type athletic ability.

Kobe only really had 2 years of legacy building, unlike MJ and Bron who had the opportunity at young ages. In those two year he averaged 33ppg.

GIVE KOBE PIPPEN FOR THE DURATION OF HIS PRIME N SEE WHAT HAPPENS

they don't even mention that Jordan also had Dennis Rodman, in addition to Scottie Pippen, for his second championship run.

Dennis Rodman being basically one of the most dominant defenders of all time, being able to stop shaq and countless other legendary big men.
