There are no good and bad carbs, it's just that most people over-eat and under-exercise, leading them to store the extra energy as fat.
A (kilo)calorie is a (kilo)calorie, although it is harder to get as fat having a surplus of calories from protein than it is from a surplus of calories from carbs/fats/alcohol. Having more than you need (unintentionally) is what leads to (unintentional) weight gain.

I got some candy on the counter right now and ate a whole bag of Pepperidge Farm cookies at like 1 o'clock this morning. Finna eat some more of these Hawaiian rolls and broccoli, then maybe pop some popcorn for movie time. Adequate carbs are the only thing that keep gym nikkas like me from passing out in the rack.
The best diet is the one you can follow. What are your stats and what are your goals? Can't offer advice without that.
