Jihad was doing high school tours back then selling headshot dvds shirts and hoodies. Every school from King all the way to GDUB knew Haddy's shyt word for word.


The youtube slump was the end of it. My high school sweetheart brother was a good friend of Peedi. I remember we were chilling one day and he told me Peedi told him Beans was trying to bring Joey Jihad and Nina Ross to State Property. Obviously that never happened.

Hold that rep breh. Took me back to high school days, getting home and loading up YouTube but back then the battle wasn’t full.

shyt I still watch loaded lux v mook rounds individually. When smack uploaded the whole thing a couple years after ( when YouTube started allowing more than 5 mins ) I noticed like a round or two was missing but that’s neither here nor there.

I had a couple smack dvds but when I discovered them Philly boys, I couldn’t find anything at the flea where I was living at the time. So YouTube was clutch because they had so much freestyles and battles.

That whole scene was crazy. Like others said, I also think it's crazy that Meek was the one who made it out. Reed Dollaz, Joey Jihad, Slaughter Rico, some others I don't remember anymore, had a lot of at least internet buzz. But they were more YouTube freestyle rappers, they had trouble putting together actual recorded music that caught on with people.
