Westbury Court in the year 2000.

The block was live back then! Crazy since it's only 1 block from Prospect Park, I wonder what it's like now. I love these videos, good footage like this of pre-9/11 New York is kinda hard to find.

The last Jouvert I went to, cats were clapping right around that block. I had a Heini in one hand and a Hiney in the other. Next thing I know we scattered ducking shots. Never again

Blame technology. People don’t do outside activities no more like back in the day.

Back in the day everything fun was outside.

But I’ll say this. In the Bronx and Harlem people still be outside heavy. Brooklyn not really unless you in Brownsville.

Technology was a thing back then as well, but there was greater moderation. Folks knew when to cut off the Playstation just to holla at Tiffany from around the way. Now these braindrone ass folks sitting on their asses hitting 140 characters at wild thots:camby:

Brooklyn keeps on taking it.
It seems to be Hispanic people keeping that alive. Even in Bushwick a lot of them chill on the sidewalks, and some of them chill at the mechanic shops

True, but west of E16 is way less dense and lots of those Victorian houses are owned by Jews

Yea Hispanics don’t play. They be having the Bronx looking like a real Dominican Republic in the summer.

You’ll see a building with 100 people in front in the Bronx and Washington Heights

Even in Philly it was like that :wow:. I remember going to the store seeing drug dealers playing stick ball because "boredom". Dudes knew me as my uncle's nephew. shyt was like a tighter bond in them days. I don't even know what's happening anymore:francis:. The feeling is lost sadly...

I agree I was in North Philly a few weeks back and aside from a few kids playing I was surprised the murder rate was still high cause the blocks look dead

I was in Bushwick on 4th of July and the Hispanics were going hard that day, mad Puerto Ricans and Mexicans chilling outside and mad people shooting fireworks off their roofs. Even setting off repeaters right on those little streets
