A Florida man who had been convicted of sexual assault in the 1980s married a teen exchange student he was allowed to supervise, and then lured her 14-year-old sister to the U.S. before victimizing her, according to authorities.
Dale Leary, now 50, was allowed to become a host for young exchange students even though he was busted for sexually assaulting a woman and tying her up at gunpoint in 1985, when he was 19, according to the Miami Herald. He pleaded guilty to the attack, spending 60 days behind bars and 13 years on probation, according to the newspaper.
Marta San Jose came to Miami from Spain to live in Leary's home in 2012, when she was 16, according to the Miami-Dade Police Department. After San Jose completed 11th grade, Leary and the teen flew to Spain to convince her parents to let her stay in the U.S. another year.
After San Jose turned 18, Leary divorced his wife and married the teen, according to police. He had been married to Claudia Leary for more than 10 years, according to the Herald.

Unaware of the marriage, San Jose's parents sent her 14-year-old sister to Miami to accompany her back home. She learned only after she arrived that Leary and her sister were married and living together in Cutler Bay.
Marta tricked her sister into thinking she had been molested as a child, and persuaded her younger sister to allow Leary to conduct a "vaginal examination," according to police. She assured her younger sister that Leary would be able to figure out if she had been sexually assaulted.
Leary sexually assaulted Marta's sister on numerous occasions, according to authorities. In addition, Marta and Leary had sex in the presence of the victim "several times," cops said.
Both Leary and San Jose were charged with a series of sex crimes.

Marta's younger sister, now 16, was eventually reunited with her parents.
Leary and Marta, who is now 21, face multiple charges including lewd and lascivious conduct with a child under 16, according to the Herald. Marta pleaded not guilty on Wednesday, while Leary pleaded not guilty last week, according to the Herald.
