i lived through ppl saying floyd was ducking or scared of
baldimir
zab
hattton
mosley
cotto
pacquaio
canelo

and you can throw in paul williams and cheato

lets just face it, the media and the majority of the fans wanted him to lose and no matter who he fought or didn't fight, his easy victories against fighters ppl thought he would lose to resulted in hurt feeling and excuse making. it is what it is

That was the reason why it didn't happen. Had Floyd done that, he would have missed out on the Oscar fight.

Even then, Floyd said he'd fight Margarito for the 8 mil he was being offered if he was guaranteed 10 for both Cotto & Hatton in the future. Arum would only guarantee him 7.

How the fukk are you gonna guarantee 8 mil for Margarito (a nobody as far as ratings go) then guarantee him less against established stars :mindblown:

The truth is that Floyd was set on leaving Arum to get the Oscar fight, and Arum knew this. So he gave him this lowball offer that he knew Floyd would decline so that he could turn around and run a smear campaign on him when he left. And you idiots fell for the bait, hook line & sinker :camby:
Exactly if arum woulda gave floyd 20 milfor de la Hoya, then the cheato fight would of happened

And cheato would have had I dunno, one successful title defense after cheating to beat cotto, then mayb some momentum would have been built for a floyd fight.

Yall be tripping me out where yalll be bringing up fighters cheato and to a lesser degree Paul Williams to floyd. He ain't losing to these guys

He was too young for Floyd then...but Floyd would beat him right now anyways:manny:
Canelo was asking him to fight 2 years prior to the fight actuAlly taking place fam :russ:
They were already beginning to say floyd was ducking him
Can't have it both ways
And yes, if the khan fight is any indication, canelo gonna have to wait till Floyd is 45 to beat him

As far as I'm concerned no one should ever argue anything for Margarito or claim Floyd ducked or should have fought Margarito after he got caught with plaster in his hands before the Mosley fight.......All of that is irrelevant when you have a guy who probably ruined Miguel Cotto's career. Maybe you have a suitable argument in 2007 but to argue that Floyd needed to fight that guy now is preposterous. The plaster makes his entire career suspect. I'm glad Pacquiao basically ended his career.

Im not speaking for anyone else though.

I've always said Canelo at 23 was too young to face Floyd...he wasn't even in his prime. My posts on that are documented on this very website.

I still don't think Canelo beats him, but he's better now than he was then.
