Cause he beat a world champion who was just a one hit wonder who made his name off of having Vernon Forrest's number. Between the second Mosley fight (which I thought Oscar won but have only seen it once) and the Sturm fight which he should have lost Oscar lost something as far as being at elite boxer anymore and his stamina was some shyt. It probably was the partying drinking and coke he was doing but by time he faught Ricardo and then Floyd he wasn't in his prime anymore. But even with that said Oscar gave Floyd one of his toughest fights till he ran out of gas.

He also beat two time world champ Fernando Vargas :skip: And he beat Vernon twice. Again, f*ck outta here. You tryin' to argue like Floyd fought some dude on his last legs :why: Let it go, and accept Money May's greatness. Get with it breh :blessed:

He actually should have lost that second fight to Forrest. He beat an absolutely shot and finished Vargas in Fernando's last fight. Vargas was ruined by the Tito fight and was never the same. Mayorga was a bum with an awkard style that any good to great boxer (apparently other than Forrest) could beat. Never said Floyd wasn't great but that doesn't mean he has beat a great fighter while they were in their prime.

29 wins, 23 via knockout :patrice: Anyway, let's say your right, let's say he's a has-been. Doesn't De La Hoya knocking down the champ in the first round and ending the match in a few rounds show he's still a prime fighter. I'm trying to understand your logic here. Whether or not Mayorga was in his prime, De La Hoy quickly dispatched him like a prime fighter does, might I say in a dominant fashion. So how can he go from that to being over the hill in the next match? :stopitslime:

If you wanna think De La Hoya was in his prime in 06 then by all means do so. But I know what the deal really is. I guess since Oscar was in his prime for Ricardo and Floyd he was in his prime when he fought Manny too since it was only two fights later right?

Joe Calzaghe retired 46-0-0 I guess hes even greater than Floyd is:smugfavre:

Joe Calzaghe was only champion in 2 weight classes Floyd was is like 6. And he fought in europe all his career.

Floyd is the P4p not only because he is undefeated, but HE IS A MULTI DIVISIONAL CHAMPION with undisputed reign for over a decade.

I'm not talking no ring magazine shyt, I talking in the eyes of the people
I wasn't sure how many weight classes but I was close enough
besides Floyd was ranked p4p number 1 then he retired, so thats when Pac took over lets not forget. No he's out the picture again, so why even bring the shyt up.

Calzaghe isn't a greater champion than Roy Jones, so people shouldn't even bring this guy up.

I love how Floyd is 36 N fights once a year N he's "preserving" himself that's why he still fights at a high level

DLH was 34 when he fought Floyd N fought once a year N he was a "part time" fighter well past his prime

you obviously have comprehension problems so I will talk to you as if you are a small child.

When people say Floyd is the p4p greatest, it has nothing to do with ring magazine rankings or his record.

It has to do with a level of consistency and dominance of an extended period of time that is unmatched in the history of the sport. It has to do with climbing weight classes collecting more belts than a karate dojo in a dominating fashion.
He displays skills in the ring that are awe-inspiring, you can't name a fighter who has ever looked sharp as him or as in command as him in the ring, you just can't.

You guys keep bringing up the same mofo's, Margarito this, Margarito that
Margarito had two chances to get to Floyd. If he would have beat Shane he would've been next in line. If he would have beat Cotto in the rematch he would have been next in line. He lost those fights, its not Floyd's fault, he fought the next man up.

P will was never on Floyd's radar, you can say what you want, but he's biggest win in the division is against Margarito who couldn't get to the top of the pile himself.

Pac-Man, is a dead horse, he's not his own boss, so technically he couldn't agree to shyt anyway. We all know Bob Arum is the reason why the fight fell apart repeatedly, It's Over.

All the guys you said Floyd duck or fought past their prime, Floyd is older than. Floyd's hands are brittle and damaged, yet he still has won over the years while moving up in weight. If Floyd didn't have problems with his hands, he would have finished Cotto and the like, because he still gave them beatings.

No one has accomplished what Floyd has in boxing history. Its just a fact, its the reason why he's the cash cow.

They said he wouldn't fight Hatton.
Funny how Pac fought him after he looked like shyt in the fight he had after Floyd, against some tomato can. He did the same thing with Mosley who looked bad against Mora.

All the fighters you name who floyd ducked, look at them now, where are they, they're not even in the mix of things. Only few fighters can last the test of time, the fact Floyd has been at the top this long solidifies him
he's the only boxing who can be hated on, because he's the only in the position.

There's so many belts and so many weight classes now that its much easier to be a multiple weight champion.

And I have to question how much boxing you watch if you've never seen anyone as in command as him.

more than enough, nobody is has crisp and displays the ring generalship floyd mayweather has.

Laila Ali even put him over her father. Its clear he's the most skilled boxer ever.
only people who do not accept this are the haters.
