What do y'all think of the orginizational shake up?
I don't mind it because obviously last year was ass and things should change after that.
It does look like Mougey is putting some daylight between himself and Glenn so that Glenn could go down by himself if this thing bottom's out this season.
As far as Glenn and Mougey's relationship not being as smooth as it appears, good. That means they're both proffesionals. I hope things always appear smooth to the public regardless of any actual issues.
I'm with you, I don't mind a shake up after the disaster last year. It makes sense that Glenn and Mougey butt heads after a disaster like that, because they're competitive and want to win. Plus, I think Mougey's earned extra leeway thanks to some of his savvy moves in the FO.
Now, I blame part of last season's issues on Glenn trying to incorporate the Saleh-era's key players in leadership roles. That's not to blame those guys, but some of them felt like square pegs for round holes aka they were better fits in the prior groups scheme. So, you had a bunch of personnel struggling with a new system, frustrations boiling over after years of losing, and a rookie head coach and GM trying to steer a ship that was halfway sunk already.
All of that is to say, I think cleaning out the locker room and starting fresh with some proven vets and a bunch of picks is the right direction. It still comes down to how these guys execute, but I think Glenn/Mougey got set up for failure last year whereas they're in a better position to show what they can do this year. Mougey's already shown promise with his trades and signings, and Glenn will get his chance with a more competent QB and a better fitting roster once the workouts and games start.
