Breh, you didn’t switch up your approach at all. It feels contrived and forced. You got to bring it from a conversation piece not canned lines.
You have to use the items around you for conversation, like say you in the chip aisle, you can comment on the price of chips and be like where I’m from chips ain’t this high. If she wans to engage in convo she will most like respond with a “where you from”.

That “ one night in town” line is killing u.
Unlike how it’s sensationalized, this is how most women respond when cold approached. Not rude or nasty but awkward, slightly nervous, taken off guard, nor really expecting anything b:c we just be focused on trying to run errands. 
A for effort to OP. B/c this type of stuff actually helps people get out of their heads.
Drop the only in town for one night. No woman wants just sex from a stranger. Let that porn fantasy go. Instead, focus on getting to know her, see the city. That sort of thing.
