I'm pretty sure others that knew Big said the same over the years because I heard it before Gene Deal started saying it. But you also have to think, why else would he want to be out there? His album was done & he was set to promote it overseas which was a first for any rapper in 97. The only reason he would go was because of Puff & him writing his verses

I was still living at home when I heard the news…I was asleep…found out later that morning when I woke up

with tupac…folks were still holding out hope that he’d survive cuz he was in the hospital for a while…but then I remember coming home from classes…got in a dollar cab and they played like 2 of his songs back-to-back…they started a 3rd song when I thought damn they playing all these pac songs like the nikka died and then it hit me…after the 3rd song I think it was angie martinez who mentioned they were playing the songs in his memory as he had just passed that afternoon…shyt was fukked up

I don't know what he's said recently on that record but he used to admit it was infact he used to admit it was worse originally. I'm just not convinced on that story about Big not wanting to go it sounds like some shyt someone wrote for a tv show. Just my opinion.
