For 8 years in a row either Barry Sanders or Emmitt Smith led the NFL in rushing

No, he had the Marks brothers in their primes who were one of the best WR combos ever.

For example Other then Matt Ryan which current QB has a better WR combo right now in the league?
:childplease:

He went to the SB in his 2nd year and broke every passing record possible. He never had a run game.

What does that have to do with what I said? Would you agree the marks brothers were one of the best WR combos?

He never had a running game, but neither did someone like Aaron rodgers. Marino not having talent during his prime like Barry not having talent is a myth

you said I've noticed now is when a superstar doesn't win a title the Talent off their supporting cast gets underrated in retrospect because people always look for excuses. Dan Marino is a perfect example of this."

The Mark brothers were one of the best, but the Dolphins team that went to the SB was not better than the 49ers in '84. After that you had the Bears and then the Giants, both with historically great defenses. The Mark brothers were done by the late 80s, but what remained consistent through all that time was a Dolphins offense with no run game.

Since you want to bring up Aaron Rodgers as a comparison to Marno.. that GB team would not fukk with the '84 49ers, meaning he'd still be ringless just like Marino.

his numbers wouldn't be as great as you assume. Barry Sanders is like the all-time leader in yards loss.

Emmit would be the all time leader in yards loss (and not be in contention for all time rushing leader), and probably would not have been able to play as long running behind the o-line Barry had, if you compare their running styles, Barry was able to adapt considering how he ran in college. Emmit was one dimensional.

No he wouldn't. Emmitt Smith didn't run backwards. Emmitt Smith was an everydown back.

If barry sanders had the O line emmit had he'd rush for 2,000 + for several years

Barry was quicker, had way better moves and got out of several jams with his agility and speed.Emmit just had to follow the holes that were created by his perennial pro bowl multiple offensive lineman.Emmit smith is overrated as fukk

I hate niccas like you who underrate Emmmit and his Vision smh....Dude was considered slow but his football IQ and ability to read holes were on some next level shyt :smh:

Not to mention toughness and knack for the endzone in the redzone

Emmitt Smith vision was uncanny I can't deny that but Barry was just on a whole nother level. Nobody is getting with Sanders if he had Smith's line :manny:

nikkas act like Emmitt wasn't jukin and breaking tackles.

Emmitt did his thing, but look at how many times they had to repeat the same highlight :what:

Sanders would do all of that in one game breh :russ:

Exactly. Emmitt was way more versatile than Barry.

And I love Barry, but there are times where he came off as an inflated rusher
Please explain how he was more versatile.

Some of you that claim Emmitt was a better back than Barry -- do you realize you're talking about the all-time leading rusher in college football and someone who was comfortably ahead of Emmitt in his NFL career despite being on a much inferior team? If not for Emmitt's longevity (which i'm not minimizing in any way) resulting in more yards in Barry's absence, you'd have nothing else to go on to say he's greater than Barry.

In college, Barry outrushed Emmitt's best season by more than 900 yards. It took Barry one season to score as many TDs as Emmitt did in three. :wow:

As a 90s kid, it was pleasure to watch Smith and Sanders in their prime :blessed:

NYC (but PGH will forever be home)
People are trying to forget the fact that Emmitt had HOFer's all throughout his offense and o-line?!?

Emmitt was and is one of the greats, but he is no where near the talent level of Barry. The jukes, the vision (fukk outta here with Smith's vision with those gaping holes), the speed. Everyone today compares AP, the games best RB in the last 10 years to whom? Barry!

And the ultimate test
- in the 90's, after you finished eating thanksgiving dinner, and were enjoying some sweet potato pie, who did we tune in to be marveled by??? Even Cowboy stans have to admit that Barry was the best thing to happen to T'giving since fried turkey...
