There are civilians who own all those things. Most of the FJ are disarmed however... but if someone is wealthy they can customize and equip the jet.
Anyway, i don't know how that's relevant. What relevant is that you can't use your judgment of a person's need to determine if it should be legal or not. That's not how the law works. You can't smoke in restaurants because clear evidence shows that you could be killing some random kid. There's no study to show that me owning my weapon for home defense will contribute to the mass killing or brutal murders that plague this nation.
Now if we keep attacking citizens rights about guns, and not advocate for a pure mental health check bill... then I may be crazy due to childhood abuses - slip through the background cracks, murk 20 people and have everyone blame the rifle on my actions.

What would you do if a terrorist like the Boston bomber was running loose and looking for a place to hide. Wouldn't you feel more secure if you had an AR-15 or a powerful weapon at home to protect your family assuming he shows up there?

i'd rather he not have similar or better weaponry than police officers in the first place. it would probably make catching him/her a lot simpler. besides, i have a feeling that 2 trained terrorists would probably subdue me pretty quickly, if they come in with bombs attached to their fukkin chest.
