That's what I'm saying breh. The people who constantly cheat their way through are the worst, especially when you have to work on group projects. They can't do shyt and you can't even teach them enough to get by because they aren't interested in the first place; it just places unnecessary strain on the rest of the group.

:mjlol: Good luck using amphetamines. Like I said, burn out by year 1, year 2 at the latest.

lmao who said I was going to use Amphetamines?

Your math skills have to be on point to do any stem major. Any besides dont most students drop out of engineering in a few months anyway
At my school 4/5 do not complete. The entering class hovers around 500 every year but only 90-100 get a degree every year. :francis:

Overall, Latinos reported the highest average earnings after college - $42,180 annually - relative to the other minority groups. Black students reported earning $35,900 and Asian Pacific Islanders earned $40,261 (data in 2006 dollars).

Latinos majoring in STEM fields also reported the highest earnings among the groups studied: an average of $56,875 per year, higher than the reported average salaries of $39,365 for blacks and $47,530 for Asian Pacific Islanders.

This is the real issue. Even when blacks achieve higher levels of education we are still underpaid. The average black STEM grad makes less than Asians and Latinos who are non STEM. The racists in white america are at war with blacks and many blacks dont even know it. They will hire, promote, and pay anybody but black folks. Black folks need to wake up and realize our challenges are unique and demand solutions geared towards blacks directly instead grouping our issues with other minorities. Many Latinos pass for white and are racist themselves so racism does not effect them the same way. studies like this only backs that up.

I'm not smart enough for that shyt :yeshrug:
Like I say everytime these posts come up, at least as it relates to the Engineering side of things. Engineering in particular isn't about how smart you are. You can't be brain dead of course but there are plenty of "Smart" people who go into engineering and flunk out or quit. Its more about perseverance. Almost like a hazing ritual to be honest. I wasn't the best in math for example growing up and I can't recite a billion prime numbers off the top of my head now either. However, as long as you're willing to put in the work, I would say most people who are at average or above average intelligence can do the work and learn the material. You just need to have the drive to do it.

80 percent not making it in eenginerring

To tie into what I said above, its mostly laziness. I've seen freshman go into the program and brag to everyone they know "I'm in engineering" "I'm an engineer ( while in school still:stopitslime:)" and all this other shyt to make themselves seem like big shyt, yet they're gone after year one or two. Just a personal anecdote, I had a dude In my group during a physics class who did this shyt on his facebook page all the time. Yet he only showed up for like 3 - 4 recitations during the whole semester. I didn't see him in the second year section of the physics series course either :francis:.

That's what I'm saying. If you want it you'll make it happen.

Disnt read the article but werent blacks said to have low employment even with stem degrees:francis:

Yep in silicon valley. When I talk to black students majoring in engineering. I always tell them to check out the gigs in defense and GM and Ford in Detroit. The defense give have to hire blacks because they need those contracts.

Ford and GM will hire blacks because they are very big on diversity and they can't get whites to go to Detroit.

Yeah man engineering isn't hard work. It is just being dedicated in your studies. College is nothing but hustling and grinding. Folks don't want to do it because it is time consuming and you can't bull shyt your way through school.

If you're going into STEM for the money then I wouldn't advise it. For one, all the people who I've seen with that mentality burn out after year 1, year 2 at the latest.

Depends on the person. Some kats I knew out a picture up on the wall of engineer starting salaries as a motivation. It is all about how the person is built.

Yep, from what I've seen American kids tend to focus more on the social aspects of college.

I've seen kids taking out loans to party and make friends :mjlol: Partying and drinking from Thursday right down to Sunday.

Everything you said and it don't get no easier in corporate America because blacks often times have to bounce to multiple jobs in order to get promotions their non black counterparts get. You also gonna get smaller raises and then STEM careers oit side of defense and places like ATL, DC and Detroit gonna be lily white where you are one of a couple blacks in the office.
