If they were serious about reparations at all they'd be mobilizing all over the country and all over the media to dredge up public support for it as a noble and liberal cause. Evil POC/LGBT-friendly BLM built their case, stayed FOCUSED and fought the powers of the ruthless, protected police unions and law enforcement communities, and where convincing Americans of police brutality and the need for limitations on law enforcement in black communities seemed like a complete fantasy just a few years ago (yes, even while a black man was President) they developed a coalition of diverse public support for police reform that has gotten us real and long-demanded action against police brutality and racism TODAY. What the hell is Yvette Carnell, Tariq Nasheed, and any of these ADOS netbangers doing other than sitting on the internet talking shyt and running smear campaigns against Democrat candidates every four years? Democrats have been fighting like all hell since the 1990s for healthcare reform. It's something they clearly want and have cared about for generations, and it ain't here yet. Lawmaking is not about how much one party "cares" you fukking idiots, it's about getting an entire--or at least a majority--of a diverse country and both chambers of Congress to agree to something. There is not enough public support for reparations outside of attentions starved internet hoteps desperate for public profiles for any party or politician to fully support it. And in fact the same contrarian hoteps and agents who use African American issues for their own personal agendas have y'all convinced that if y'all alienate as much people who have been historically supportive of black causes as possible and align reparations instead with anti-immigrant white supremacists who elected Trump and have been historically unsupportive of black causes this is how we will somehow achieve our political goals. Sheila Jackson Lee has introduced an Act to study and develop Reparations proposal called H.R.40 but of course it hasn't passed through the ringer. But Williamson and Castro actually support Reparations right now.

Small correction. She didn't introduce it. John Conyers came up with that bill in 1989 and passed it to Jackson Lee when he retired. It was HR 3745 and was changed to HR 40 in 1997. Democrats finally publicly backed it this year.

As a fun aside, Conyers also put forth a Medicare For All, HR 676, in 2003. Bernie Sanders made the Senate Version in 2017.
