For the first time in NBA history, we will have a different champ for the 7th consecutive time.

Yeah you right this is a mechanism of the owners protecting themselves against themselves but this CBA is terrible

Its terrible the 2nd Apron repeater tax is ridiculous you literally can't do anything

They should've at least brought back that Amnesty rule. You should be able to get out of one bad contract once a year.

These salaries are too big you make mistake and you're fukked

These contracts are guaranteed you need some breathing room if you fukk up on a contract :damn:
they're not gonna bring back the amnesty when contracts are shorter now than before and now you have to be conscious of the deals you offer.

NBA playoffs basically comes down to who gets the hottest from the 3 point line each round.

Still waiting for the classic Game 7 do or die game this year.

Chaos is a ladder. That 2nd Apron is what’s “saving the league”(or killing it). I say keep things as they are. These GMs need to earn their keep and be more discerning than ever. And I love it! It’ll separate and expose who really knows ball and who has the math wizards to keep things going under spending restrictions. Who can make do with nothing but Spam in the fridge. GOOOD!

From a fan standpoint, especially with this transition back to NBAonNBC(nostalgia) I wanna see how the casual fan deals with teams rising and falling on a whim. I wanna see how much free agent movement dictates whose eyeballs stay on the screen, or if ppl will no longer get excited by free agent or legacy talk.

MLB Playoffs comes down to who has the hottest pitcher
NFL Playoffs comes down to who has the healthiest team
NBA Playoffs comes down to who's hitting their shots.

This new CBA is awful

I can't believe the players ok'd this bullshyt

The 2nd Apron Repeater Tax is hell on earth

This is a hard cap in the NBA like in the NFL but the difference is contracts are guaranteed in the NBA. In the NFL you can just cut a Ben Simmons or a Damian Lillard but in the NBA you have to try and trade those horrible contracts.

Its just very hard.

You have to be a team like the Thunder and accumulate picks, trade for a young star and hit on him.. Decide who your core is pay them and trade everyone else to replenish your team but you have to hit on these picks. You can't make a mistake :damn:

Good.

Forces ownerships and GM's to not sit on their ass and count on stars to carry them. They actually have to be active in putting together chip contending teams every year.

Health is huge in all sports. NFL is about consistent execution because one quarter or shyt one play can kill your season. NBA has transitioned from being about the offensive dominance of your top stars (the only prism most are able to view it through) to being about 3 pt variance, versatility, and depth.

Thank God

people forget how horrrendous the Finals were in 2000-2003 Lakers, and the Spurs, and the Warriors ones with KD, or LeBron goin to the Finals every year with a super team.

NBA is in a good place right now with random teams goin to the finals

It actually does the opposite. It allows them to say "Hey we cant go for it...second apron". Since the 2nd apron has real consequences they can use it as an excuse and avoid being called cheap. Fans gonna blame the stars anyway.

The NBA generated a record $11B in revenue last year, signed a $76B TV deal, and the sport is huge internationally…… small market, big market, doesn’t matter.. league is healthy and thriving
