Only subbed to HBO Max, Disney, and Apple TV at the moment. I've tired of the tyranny of Netflix's viewer engagement algorithm leading to the immediate cancellation of shows of interest.

Analysts had projected loss of 2 mil subscribers in qtr 2 so glad it's not as bad, stock is up even more after hours today. Hoping the partnership with Microsoft in rolling out an ad supported tier turns this shyt around.

Ads...:mjlol:

I'll be surfing the mighty seas for all their content that I watch now. I already canceled. Only reason I have Hulu with ads is because I get Spotify, Hulu, and showtime for $5/mo. Once that's over I'll actually pay for premium. I hate ads (I'm looking at you coli).

The binge watch model has been proven ineffective

People love to binge watch, but you can't make that a default model in lieu of quality.

If you had to watch a lot of them Netflix shows weekly they would NOT stand up. Especially during their era where everything was 12-13 episodes

And yea the Marvel shows opened my eyes to why binge model was so bad. As a collective these shows are best experienced when they're spread out

Discussing and dissecting an episode a week at a time is healthier for the lifespan of the show. Discussions on binged shows are trash and scattered because nobodies on the same page

Hell the Film Room has great examples. Threads for weekly shows are fleshed out with good discussions. (Them Game Of Thrones days:wow:)Threads for Netflix shows are all over the place because everybody's on different episodes, nikkas trying to duck spoilers because you're only on episode 3 while other nikkas have finished the series on day one and shyt:russ:

Shows(QUALITY shows) are best experienced with the collective having the same info at the same time. Binging is great for catching up or rewatching, but as a default???:camby:
Never understood it. They drop a whole season and you watch it in a day or two.. then what? I’m big into the Wu Tang series and they held them to once a week. That’s better because it gives you something to look forward to.!I know people say the tv formula is dead, but we see why it worked for as long as it did
