I work in manufacturing there is not a lack of jobs. There is a large lack of companies willing to pay good wages/even pay above minimum wage.

In the US the past 40ish years there's been too much emphasis on 4 year schools, and not enough on learning a trade--and just working. Also a large part of the problem.
Trade schools are expensive too. Moreover, that's not a good long term plan because with automation you will not have as many options. The reasons companies pay so little wages is because of lack of union density like he said. It's currently at around 10%.

My family was lower middle class.

Now I am upper middle class by that definition.

I want to make at least 600k a year before I am 50. I feel like I am making the right moves for that to happen, but I can only hope.
what do you do

Automation will kill off so many jobs, the government will be forced to give a basic income to the hundreds of millions of unemployed people to prevent them.from rioting and to save capitalism itself.

Imo, unless u are doing something that requires rare specialization like helping put together a f22 raptor or some other miltitary equipment, manufacturing in america is dead. Or if u just find the rare company that wants to push the made in america agenda and dont mind working and negotiating w/ unions.

The secret Republicans are keeping is that at some point they will go after the minimum wage. Jeb Bush let it slip a few times. Its only a matter of time.

I wish I would have learned to be a gunsmith. I love guns, and handfitted custum guns are in high demand.

Under Donald Trump, income inequality will grow.

"First of all, it’s important to note that the middle class is shrinking not just because more people are poor but also because more people are rich."

Pure bullshyt.

A falling middle class is in direct correlation with falling union membership and lack of manufacturing jobs.
Breh the data is literally right there.... can u not read numbers

just finished my masters

My parents are cool, they don't police things like I'm a kid. Plus my pops has been overseas a lot last few. My mom is about to start travelling with him more. My 95 year old grandma was living with us till last year when she passed and that was a huge workload for everyone taking care of her which was another job in itself.

I'll get my own spot when I get hitched (get married brehs  ) or in a couple years after the next financial crisis :ehh:
