It boils down to people not believing white people are inherently racist. They are literally shocked because their covertly racist CAC friends told them we are in a post racial society

All white people are racist all of them in varying degrees.

But I truly believe there is no such thing as a non racist white person. They see where their bread is buttered, they are socialized in the same environment that promotes them as the proverbial cream of the crop over everybody else, they see they have the advantage in this country, they see that 90% of the time they can be around people that look like them and they know what it is.

I would say that I like my racism out in the open. Let me explain.

one definition of racism is: a belief that race is a fundamental determinant of human traits and capacities and that racial differences produce an inherent superiority of a particular race.

If someone feels a certain way. I’d rather they be straight forward, as opposed to the smile in your face, call you such and such behind your back type.

Racism and violence are two separate things. Although, obviously one can influence the other. For the record everything you mentioned has been gong on forever though.

To think that it wasn’t as racist just because it was not out in the open just shows how blind a person really was. Trump did accelerate the problem. He let people be comfortable in their opinion.
