I think the problem is deep down inside so many Black people doubt the dedication and white people have to racism and practicing racism white supremacy. We still think that is some good in them as some of them somehow someway I’m not racist.

Almost all white people are just as racist and homicidal as police killers and the killers of Ahmad Aubrey. And that’s what we don’t want to admit. Larry who invited you over who you eat lunch with every day is probably a racist white supremacists. So there is no running whether it’s open racism or hidden racism you’re surrounded by enemies.

This is exactly the mindset i created this thread with.

Okay now that we know... are we still going to lunch with Larry?
Are we still hitting up Samantha IG?
Are we still debating Colin Kaep with Joe at work?

Or do we need Larry to serve us koolaid for us to get it?
Or maybe Samantha needs to add "no darkies" to her IG profile?
Or maybe Joe should take off the SF hat and put on a MAGA hat?

I mean at some point we gotta get it right?

OP used the most extreme examples of that statement. I don’t think anyone wants cop killing blacks or a Dylan roof type situation to occur, but unfortunately klan members are going to klan member.

I think when people use that phrase it’s more a situation of where they’d rather their coworkers and neighbors wear I support trump shirts instead of smiling in our faces pretending they like us. At least that’s my opinion.

I assure you I wasn't trying to be sensationalist. I've had discussions about Trump and his actions with black people (ADOS and NonADOS alike) where they just say... "well at least his an open racist"

Like this the shyt we talk about and sometimes I just wonder what the benefit is

Dissatisfaction brings about change

I would say its the catalyst to get something started. I think much more is needed to keep momentum. Cuz there has been alot of fruitless dissatisfaction

Dylan Roof's are going to Dylan Roof.
Cop's gonna Cop...been copping well before Trump.

We aren't going to change racism by pretending it was fixed with civil rights. This is just an indicator how fragile the situation really is. Also, I don't think anyone would realize this term would apply to the Potus. I think they were talking their local shop owner so they know who not to spend their money with.

Black folks that have been here pre civil rights already know this :sas2:

A lot of them are on that all or nothing tip and nothing gets done like that in life when you have large groups of people with competing interests.

You're never going to get 100 pecent of what you want in anything. Hell in politics you've done well if you get 50 percent of what you want.

A lot of people want to justify their narrative of both sides being the same at the expense of civil rights legislation, Supreme Court Justice appointments, district judges, and other shyt that hard right conservatives are putting in place that will last long after Trump is no longer president anymore.

Take away the names and we have one side that leans more moderate and progressive and we have another side that leans more conservative and nationalist. Conservative politics have never helped Black people I mean never. All the civil rights progression was more left leaning liberal policy. I'm no Democratic apologist because they've done some things that hurt us as well, but if you believe they are worse than the alternative then...
:mjpls:

If you look at the Democrats in the House and Senate they are a much better representation of America albeit flawed but still better than the Republican offerings.

As much as people want a third party to be a viable alternative they are not right now and probably never will be unless a Super PAC puts some money behind them. I don't think any of the Hoteps are trying to invest in this third party notion financially, but it's a good talking point to lump people who you either don't care for or are frustrated with in one category. As it relates to political interest though people are not a monolith.

You have to make the choice that is best for you; however, sitting out shouldn't be a choice at all if you were serious about change. Just my opinion.

Are ya'll living the dream now? :patrice:

Has Trump made America better by being more openly racist than previous presidents? How has open racism benefitted you personally?

I'm asking seriously.

Ya'll prefer the Dylan Roofs to shoot people to remove any doubt instead of him just thinking and fantasying about it?

Ya'll prefer cops to kill black men and women instead of wishing that they could but not acting on it?

I don't know where you're from or what you been through...but all of that has been going on the ENTIRE fukkING TIME. Preferring to know where people ACTUALLY STAND politically and philosophically does not = I prefer crazy white people that don't stop short of actual murder.

Cops and Dylan Roof's BEEN moving this way long before Trump, the fact that IT'S ON FRONT STREET means people, especially black people who think shyt is sweet due to cacs, mostly liberals deciding to keep their racism covert is one less reason to get complacent.

I'm serious, what the fukk does that statement even mean? What is the benefit of open racism? What is the upside? Do you see racist shyt on TV and say "good ole open racism :banderas:"

I really dont get the phrase at all. All white people support racism, you shouldn't need them killing us to remind you of that fact :comeon:

The statement means, for me at least as someone who has actually had serious issues with the klan, that i'd rather see a 'maga' sign in some crackers yard than have them pretending to be 'good' white people coming to borrow sugar and be cordial til the fukking pitchforks come out. Some just auto-hate and distrust everybody white off the rip and I don't blame them if that's where they're at.

But for everyone else who's not set on living in a segregated society, yes, I'm HAPPY that white people who hold abhorrent views are making themselves known rather than hiding their hands for a multitude of reasons.

Most importantly, the whole reason we are cycling back around to overt racism and other issues that seem like they are from another time is because we tried to sweep the shyt under the rug instead of actually addressing the issues on a substantive level.

If you ignore a toothache the symptoms eventually get strong enough to not ignore. TRUMP is a perfect reflection of this country, it's history and unanswered for sins. He is the embodiment of capitalism, even before he was POTUS and the issues that his presence highlight are the blaring symptoms of the sickness of white supremacy.

Compare his behavior to that of Bill "the first black president" Clinton, I'll take the overt racism if only for the fact that nobody would be under the illusion that he was anything but poison for black people and this country overall.

OP prefers for his enemies to smile in his face, then stab him in the back...:mjlol:

Nah I prefer my enemies to understand that when they are openly racist to me, they can lose their job, social standing, entire career so they have no choice but to deal with me.

I'm sure my company doesn't like cutting a big check to me every couple of weeks
I'm sure my bank doesn't like loaning to a black man
I'm sure my college professors didn't like giving me A's

I dont think I would have preferred if I got all Fs and my professor said "f u nikka"
I dont think I would prefer if in a weeks time I get 1 dollar instead of my full paycheck and my company says "f u nikka"
I dont think I would prefer it if I lose my house tomorrow on a bank foreclosure and my loan officer says "f u nikka"

I dont think anyone is less racist now than before.
I think that punishing open racism is the only way to get people to act less racist, regardless of what they believe internally and what they say when they're beating their wife at home

I agree with alot of what you are saying. Honestly nothing annoyed me during the Clinton era than him getting called the "first black president". My larger point is stated above.
My dealings with white people in America have been 100% negative. 100%, not one positive overall interaction.

I dont go to white people's home, I dont eat their food, I dont make white friends, etc.

But I sure as hell don't need a cross burning in my front yard to remind me that white people are racist. I dont need that shyt, I just dont.

This is a bit of a red herring.:usure:

This statement has nothing to do with actually liking racism, open nor closed.

It simply means that covert racism (i.e. institutional racism) has been the greatest threat we have faced over the past 60 years. Its not even up for debate, economically speaking.

What I mean is-

Imagine a white manager who simply does not want to hire a black person on his team. First off, it would be extremely difficult to ever prove this considering he is 'not being open'. And even if they were ever caught, he still would have the ability to feign ignorance and pretend that it was 'an oversight'. Sure, they would go to some BS diversity training, but- they still would retain their employment/power, they still will be allowed to go to their same country clubs, they still would be welcomed into their community.

I used to light up wit a white boy i worked with, typical white boy nothing out of the ordinary all the clients liked him yadda yadda. One day he got cut off by a old black lady while my indian homeboy was with him. He said out of nowhere he just screamed ******!! at the top of his voice and my homeboy was like :mjtf:

You got damn right id prefer him being the actual fukking nazi he is. On larger issues i believe it would probably help keep the black dollar in black communities for a longer time if u know that racist store owner hates you and your fam or whatever

I don't entirely knock that statement. It is fitting under circumstances when you're dealing with the other side and they're smiling at you. I remember listening to Howard Stern years ago and he said anytime a Black person left the room, it wouldn't be long before the whites in the same room starting talking about the n!ggers. If you're conscious then you already know what it is. Scenarios like that make statements such as "I like my racism in the open" fit the occasion.

However, considering the past three years and current events and where society is headed, that statement is moronic. You've got an administration in office with white nationalist ideals. What used to be limited to st0rmfr0nt, American Renaissance, Jared Taylor types, 14 words, etc., is now mainstream conservative politics. This isn't the kind of open racism anybody with sense would want.
