For those of you who've seen NBA players play in HS, how good are they?

Gerald Wallace - That dude in high school :wow: Man among boys
Most of the cats drafted from Birmingham in the past 20 years, I've seen them play in HS

Demarcus Cousins used to play basketball on my street. While most of the news articles about him speaks on Mobile, breh lived in Bridlewood Forest (east side Birmingham/Center Point) and went to Erwin. That lil big nikka :francis:.

Now somebody who I didn't see in person but always saw old VHS and heard about was Ennis Whatley (Enimo), who went to high school with my mom at Phillips. Old school on the north side still talk about Enimo.

I remember cousins and watford tried to play with each other in high school

Harlem via Brooklyn
Played against Marbury in HS and Ed Cota in a summer tournament. Both were MILES ahead of the competition. The little kids that are always out on the court practicing become those dudes in HS. They have a head start and a natural love for the game so for kids that start later or aren't that dedicated to the craft, they will appear that much better.

College ball is a different level altogether.

You watched Eric Bledsoe too?
By chance. I was living in Montgomery at the time and went home around Christmas and Parker was playing Huffman.

You saw Stanley Robinson at Huffman?
Sticks? Yeah. He came in the year after I graduated and my brother told me that dude was raw as a freshman, so kept up with him. Led my high school to their only state championship appearance. :obama:Hate they had to lose to Jeff Davis tho. :beli:

Got to see Rashad Lewis play at my high school (I was in middle school at the time). He peaked super early but it was obvious he was NBA ready even by his junior year. My older sister had a shot at dating him but she wanted his older brother and lost big time on that one lol. He played for the Chicago bears for one year as an undrafted rookie and never did anything with his life after that.
You went to Hastings? My older sister did too. She knew Rashard.

I've seen bron, Ariza, nick young, afflalo,Amir Johnson and telfair in hs and it's clear as day which players gonna be stars next level. One player that I saw in hs that I thought for sure was gonna be a monster was Hassan Adams. Dude was an athletic freak but I guess didn't work on his game enough to make it to the league.

no, i think barrett 16 now..

he a light skinned dude.. 6'6 small forward

i think canadian could have a league if they wanted.. one that ran during the summer.. would be ill
Could be this kid Justin Jackson. Just finished a year at Maryland and will probably be a first-round pick next year:

The ball scene has exploded up here. Tons of young prospects playing Div 1 ball in the States, when it was a rarity a decade ago.
