For those that work in cubes, do you personalize your desk?

Nah, I'm black. I'm one foot out the door, always. Never comfortable. Quick in, Quick out. Not knocking anyone who decorates their cube to "make it feel like home," but I know that the minute I subscribe to that mentality, I'll be on that path to being in that mothafukka for twenty years.

Cacs love to ask me why I never have pics up or decorations.. It seriously bothers them for some reason.

When I got fired from my last corporate job, cacineze manager told me he was giving me ten minutes to clean out my desk and then he'll escort me out the building. I left his office, went to my desk, shut down my computer, grabbed my jacket and left in under 30 seconds, since I had nothing to collect. I heard later that he came back with two security officers ten mins later all like then got irate, checking with the receptionists, coworkers and security footage to see if I actually left the building.

same thing happen to me when I got fired in 2013. All I had to get from my desk was my phone charger and Chapstick.

I don't work in a cubicle, but I JUST switched offices last week when they did a major layoff in my department. Once I started packing shyt up, I realized that I would NOT be putting that shyt up again. Too much work to still have it feel like work.

I learned a long time ago that people at work don't need to know anything about my personal life. All they need to know is I'm a human who comes to work, does work, and then goes home.

I have some notebooks but that is pretty much it. It kinda looks like the pic @Htrb-nvr-blk-&-ug-as-evr posted except I don't even have the luxury of a monitor even though I'm a dev. They said I could ask for one but I'm gonna be this bish anyways ...

Always thought it was kinda corny, like youre pretending you have an office lol. Where i used to work people had inspirational quotes framed, social outing invites, and pics of beyonce and warren buffet. shyt looked like a FB wall.

I would take a pic of the office area on the floor below me with about 8 women in a group, but don't want it to trace back to me. Let's just say, it is very "homey"....fukkin lamps, rocking chairs, that kudzu plant shyt running everywhere, assorted other plants and trees, pictures covering everything. Smells good down there tho...

I never wanted to do that walk of shame carrying a box out. Plus the last 2 office jobs I had when you got fired you'd leave and the manager clears out your desk and give it to you later

Kinda the stance I take. Not to mention, it's just a 'huge cubicle'.

If it were my own office, even if a small office, then maybe I would.
But I, as a supervisor, work in a damn giant cubicle. Hell no I'm not personalizing that sh!t

My desk is cluttered with work stuff. I'm a minimalist so it's a struggle.

I have this above my desk. It was hanging in another room and I took it down and put it up.

I also have a framed picture of myself from a fake modeling photo shoot some of my coworkers and I did many years ago. The reactions from people who see the picture of myself range from laughing to confusion. It keeps me entertained.

Oh and I have some pics of my kids up on a magnetic wall next to my desk. My kids are the shyt and my oldest (2 years old) has modeled. Proud dad.
