We are using the criteria proposed by Prof William Darity to determine eligibility for Reparations.

This has been discussed several times.

Honestly never heard of him before or his plan. How does everyone eligible come up documents that they had an enslaved ancestor when that document might not exist or was lost?

so what you went through as a black man in Europe is your plight. And I respect you as a black man. But I have respect and a responsibility to my people as well.

black is not just my race. It’s my culture and ethnicity as well

The same way you say black is your culture is the same way black is culture in other parts of the world . Does that mean it's the same culture as your black culture? No of course not. But it's still called black culture. In England when kids are being raised its apart of black culture to explain to the kid that they have to work twice as hard, its apart of black culture to eat "black cake" at weddings, its apart of black culture where most our grandma's go to church ..
We call that black culture as well as being black. This doesn't invalidate you or your culture but USA doesn't have a monopoly on the words "black culture"

First, an individual must demonstrate that they have at least one ancestor who was enslaved in the U.S. Second, an individual must demonstrate that for at least 10 years prior to the onset of the reparations program or the formation of the study commission, whichever comes first, they self-identified as black, Negro or African-American. The first criterion will require genealogical documentation — but absolutely no phenotype, ideology or DNA tests. The second criterion will require presentation of a suitable state or federal legal document that the person declared themselves to be black."

Overdue reparations is the key to closing the racial wealth gap

Genealogy and searches of family records. Hell Skip Gates can dig into records and find the ancestors of Celebrities. If your family never talked about immigrating to the U.S., no mention of being part this or that or having fam in another country then your family is most likely ADOS.

This is an Anglo Caribbean tradition (that comes from an English tradition) that people took with them to England (America and Canada). It has nothing to do with "black culture" in England.

It may take some digging but with Census docs, court docs and other docs ADOS folks should be able to trace their family roots in America.

The black community has been divided, the goal has been disrupted, the meaning of “black” has been questioned, and getting things done have been more difficult. There is no common struggle, no common success. There is no black unity. There’s no surprise that the last time true black unity was achieved, was before black immigration. I think black immigration has done more harm than good for us

we’re all black when it comes to our downfalls

I think through out history. America has been so color based, that when black American people see black people you don’t care where they’re from.
Same reason why Irish and Italian immigrants did terrible things to achieve whiteness

but when you have blacks from other places who don’t want to be a part of us and what we’ve built and instead want to be a buffer class and leapfrog over us. It’s all bad.

I have heard lot more insults from AA back in south Florida before the diaspora conflict became a constant fued in the internet.
