Private trackers are torrent sites that you have to be invited to.

They:

- Generally, have much faster download speeds. I pretty much hit my max download on every torrent.

- Easier to find rare releases. If you have multiple trackers, you can find practically anything you want. On public sites, older releases take forever to download, and have little to no seeders. On private sites, pretty much every torrent has at least a few seeders.

- Are much safer to use. Some public trackers are 'monitored', while private trackers are not.

- If you can't find something, most private trackers allow you to request a release.

- For most part, private trackers have better releases (higher quality releases. I can find any album in 320 kbps).

The only issue with private sites are that they require you to maintain around a 1:1 download to upload ratio. So your total uploaded has to be near, at or above your total downloaded.

I need to fix my external right now, but once I'm done, i'll check out your uploads. My ratio is at 1, so it ain't too bad.

And I've never understood what FLAC is, how it works, etc.

VLC player, i convert them to ALAC to i can play them in itunes
