Folks are gonna believe what they want since the series never happened but just to address a few things...

Ppl bringing up Jordan shytting on Max outside of the Rockets championship years...No shyt! We're talking about when Max was "Mad Max", the crazy, country mfer that jumped on moving cars like he was in a fukking movie. During that short time-frame he was one of the best guys you could put on Jordan. Max lost his soul after the Drexler trade. In the video I posted on the first page he openly says he didn't get over that trade until the past few years. Again he wasn't gonna shut down the gawd but you would've had a difficult time finding guys that frustrated Jordan more than Max.

As for the Jordan/Pippen combo...lemme again say nobody was shutting both of those guys down at that time. That said the Rockets had some good perimeter defenders then, Max, Elie, young Horry. The Rockets had guys to throw at them. On the flip side the Bulls had NOBODY to put on Dream. It would've been fun to see for sure.

Also crazy coincidence that we have someone using KJ going off to make a point about Jordan going off. It just so happens Rudy T spoke about that last night. Rudy was asked about his relationships with his players and he mostly talked about how difficult it was when trades happened and situations like that. Out of nowhere he talked about how he always felt bad about the position he put Kenny in when they played Pheonix. He talked about Kenny always being a team player when most would've bucked back because the gameplan made him look bad. Rudy said under no circumstances were the guys supposed to help him out on KJ. He said they purposely let KJ do whatever he wanted because he knew KJ wasn't going to beat them by himself. Rudy said he was more terrified of KJ getting other guys like Majerle, Ainge getting going because that was when they were at their best. So who knows how Rudy would've decided to guard Jordan but i doubt it would've been the same strategy.

The only other thing I have to add is that I'm not sure everyone understands that Dream was a demigod back then. In my lifetime the ONLY 2 bigs that I can honestly say were completely unstoppable were prime Dream and prime Shaq, that's it. There's way too much "who's guarding MJ/Scottie" and not nearly enough "Hakeem would've annihilated Chicago's bigs".

But anyways, just to echo what others have said, it is beyond unfortunate those teams didn't play in the finals. There is zero doubt in my mind some wild shyt would've went down and we would still be talking about it today.

there is no history of anyone stopping MJ from getting his in the paint, yet the Rockets & Hakeem would have shut the paint down on him :mjlol:

@NYC Rebel care to explain why this didn't translate to all of their regular season meetings?

regular season means nothing.. jazz swept the bulls in 98 and loss in the finals

a lot of those regular season games teams was coming in off of back to back games.

even tho hakeem would have dominated... jordan will to win was so much greater

You tripping bro. Jordan's teams never really saw a back to the basket center (Ewing was more of a face up jump shooter) until Shaq took them out in 95 who was then thoroughly embarrassed by the Rockets in the Finals. Once again I didn't see the Bulls thoroughly dismantling the 96 Sonics, or the 97 Jazz. Those are teams that eliminated the Rockets that season.

and they swept the shyt out of Shaq in '95 when MJ had proper training time and they got a PF back in the mix

that's CLEARLY a better reference point than the '94 playoffs

95 rockets would've washed the 95 bulls, especially with drexler there.

i would say sweep, but out of respect, I'll give them 1 game.

lol @ the thought of the bulls winning 8 in a row. if they win in 94 or 95, there's no titles in 96-98.
:dead:

Is this a joke???

The 95 Bulls were 72-10

:dead:

Maybe you mean the 94-95 Bulls without MJ..

If you do then my fault..

What does that even equate to? Instead of 30 on 50%, he puts up 30 on 45%?

Hakeems presence on defense wasn't going to slow MJ down in any substantial way

Mike always got his
Yea it would have.

BTW it's not the rest of the NBA's fault that Jordan went to play baseball in 94-95. What you expect the league to just cease operations becuz Jordan wasn't playing? Should the Spurs, Shaq & Kobe Lakers and Heatles be less valued or diminished becuz Jordan wasn't playing?

Im not diminishing what the Rockets did, I just don't like the Coli rhetoric that its an undeniable fact they would have beaten the Bulls

Where the hell was scoring going to come from outside of Hakeem in '94? I watched Shaq get his against the Bulls in '96 and still get swept. Penny even had a nice series and it didn't matter
