They all sound so ridiculously simple and easy to make 😂, only thing I ever produced in my life is a daughter so wtf do I know but yeah…these jawns sound so basic…bangers tho without question. I’d say just skills wise “Down Bottom” is probably the best, I used to love that f’n record. Loved all these records actually, Ruff Ryders Anthem blew my whole mind when it came out, for real.

Every time I hear these beats now, I think about how crazily Swizz was able to get over and basically rob artists in '98-'99, with these bullsh*t *ss beats.

Dude really sold a lot of trash and was charging dudes mad paper for these trash tracks. I see why Pete Rock went crazy over this, lol. Nepotism is a MF.

All them songs are straight bangers imo…some are classics…but just from a technical aspect, the beats sound super duper rudimentary. I don’t think whether they’re good or bad is dependent on whether the records were hot or flopped, a lot of stupid shhit popped lol…and a lot of fire flopped. Swizz had a moment where his sound was the “it” sound…but yeah, listening to them beats today tho? Nah, lol.

That’s why a lot of Jigga’s late 90s to early/mid 2000s catalog sounds so dated and ass now…them beats, he was chasing the fads/sound of the time, imo

If they are bangers and classics, what does technicality have to do with it? If it sounds good, who cares about the technical aspects?

X on Dame Grease production >>> his Swizz stuff

This right here.

And that's why the first album was X's best work. Only one track from Swizz on there. That joint was all Grease and PK.

Grease said he actually taught Swizz how to use the MPC, and then said, "I sat and taught him and he decided to do something completely different with it. I don’t know." LOL!!
