in their reality, that terrorist attack happened. the people who committed it should be brought to justice and the police that day should be celebrated for their bravery.

I have not looked into this myself but someone I know said they were probably collaborators who feared getting busted.

I think this is exactly what happened with these guys. They bought all the Trump bullshyt hook line and sinker, and when they saw what their supposed fellow Patriots were really all about, they chose to give up and be cowards instead of being brave and fighting. Probably thought they'd be treated like heroes instead got the from all maga's. People trying to say it's because they were in on it.
